Abraham Lincoln:

The 16th President pardoned a cousin of his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, who was a Confederate supporter during the Civil War.

Bill Clinton:

In 2001, President Clinton pardoned his half-brother, Roger Clinton, who had been convicted on drug-related charges. This was one of the "midnight pardons" issued just before Clinton left office.

George H.W. Bush:

In the final days of his presidency, Bush granted clemency to his son, Neil Bush, who was implicated in the Silverado Savings and Loan scandal. The decision was controversial and viewed by some as an example of presidential privilege shielding a family member.

Jimmy Carter: The 39th President pardoned his brother, Billy Carter, who was embroiled in financial disputes involving Libya. While President Carter did not publicly shield Billy from scrutiny, the pardon helped minimize political fallout.

Donald Trump: While Trump did not pardon any family members during his presidency, there were widespread rumors that he might issue preemptive pardons for his children, including Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. However, these pardons never materialized.

Joe Biden : The current and 46th President pardoned his son Hunter Biden in his last few weeks in office. Hunter was convicted for federal firearms and tax offences early this year.

Great. A list of US Presidents who pardoned relatives. And they throw Trump on the list too because ... well ... there were rumors ... people thought he might ... but he didn’t.

If Jeffrey Dahmer was Biden’s son, the pardon he would extend would be accompanied by a “he was hungry, what do you expect” narrative that the media would repeat incessantly.

Yes, and I would like to know what their perceived crimes might have been. This is the first I have heard of THAT.

So Trump didn’t pardon any relatives but he’s on the list because some people thought he would?

FDR’s kids had some troubles. Maybe he would have pardoned them if he lived longer. Ditto with all those damned Kennedys. Maybe if Jack had lived or Bobby or Teddy were elected, the young ones would have gotten pardons.

Roger Clinton was already convicted of the drug offense and already did federal time years before his brother pardoned him, so he wasn’t in the same position as Hunter Biden. Roger Clinton also took a payoff from the Gambino crime family. That wasn’t included in the pardon, but he didn’t have to go to trial for it.

And how many of those pardons included 10 years of past crimes?

A fact conveniently omitted. Along with tossing president Trump in for a rumor that he might be considering it. That’s just as bad as a Democrat giving a 10-year pardon according to these clowns

Going through the list. They're all lefties.

Mary Todd Lincoln ... obviously a Dim if a Confederate supporter.

Roger Clinton ... a known grift receiver of $50K and a Rolex watch in hopes he'd lobby Slick Willy to pardon Gambino.

Neil Bush ... heads both Points of Light (a UN volunteer organizing group) and the Bush China Foundation. Basically about as left as you can get and call yourself Republican.

Billy Carter ... took in hundreds of thousands in grift money from Libya for lobbying to his brother.

Hunter Biden ... made all of the above look like chump change

Wait….they actually listed rumors of President Trump planning to pardon his daughter and son in law but then admit he never did any such thing?! What the heck?

Does Trump’s pardon of his daughter’s father in law, Charles Kushner count as the pardoning of a family member)

And while we’re at it, what’s the reason for appointing Charles ambassador to France? What are his qualifications?

Well, it’s going to be pretty hard for the MSM hate-fest to get much traction when Trump pardons the J6ers.

“Great. A list of US Presidents who pardoned relatives. And they throw Trump on the list too because ... well ... there were rumors ... people thought he might ... but he didn’t.”

The author neatly skims over the details of Hunter Biden’s blanket pardon which are pretty much unprecedented.

About the author:

“Aradhana Brahma — author

Guess she’s not much into “uncovering hidden narratives.”
