Sharing platform Reddit has removed a popular forum that focuses on the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
The “Thomas Crooks” subreddit was banned for supposedly violating Reddit’s rules against posting violent content.
The assassination attempt against Trump occurred on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, which ended with the death of Thomas Crooks by Secret Service snipers.
The shooting has now become one of the most historical events in United States history and will likely be discussed for years to come, but not on Reddit.
Reddit’s decision to ban the topic has raised concerns about its limits on free speech.
The now-defunct subreddit had been a hub for users seeking answers and sharing information about the incident, The Post Millenial’s Katie Daviscourt reported.
Discussion on the forum ranged from speculation about potential Secret Service security failures to theories of it being an inside job.
Unsurprisingly, Reddit has failed to provide specific examples of the offending material for the ban.
The lack of transparency has raised eyebrows, with many questioning the motive behind the decision.
The ban comes just months after other platforms, such as Google and Facebook, faced criticism for their handling of information related to the assassination attempt.
As we reported earlier this year, Google was caught removing the assassination attempt from its autocomplete search engine feature.
Weeks later, the search giant admitted its autocomplete algorithm prevented users from seeing search results about the attempted assassination attempt.
“The attorney said the bugs were fixed after they were brought to Google’s attention,” National Review reported.
Meanwhile, Facebook warned users about sharing photographs of President Trump raising his fist in the air after the shooting after falsely claiming the images were AI-generated.
Critics argue that such actions could potentially influence public opinion ahead of the upcoming election.
I understand mistakes can happen...
But not always, always in favor of one side!
The filthy slime in the media want everyone to forget.
dems need to clean up any references to their deeds
OR some of the denizens of Reddit were getting too close to the truth.................
Reddit is a troll farm. No one takes what those people say seriously. IMHO. It may be 90% AI bots for all we know.
Basically Reddit has BANNED anybody who mentions anything about supporting Trump or any other Republican. Reddit is a rancid website of left-wing liberals and they think that banning people helps their viewpoint. I think they’re a bit scummy and I hope that their stock eventually tanks.
Reddit is mostly a left wing cesspool
Correct. It started out that way.
Reddit is hostile territory. A conservative on there is operating behind enemy lines.
F Reddit. Those Reddit users can go to Rumble and Truth Social. Also X.
I just lurk from time to time. I don’t participate................
Reddit is filled with nothing but bitches, faggggs, snowflakes, mentals, sjw, rascist poc, terrorist supporters, liars, cheats, delusionals, babies, slackers and losers of the world. Truth has no place there.
I can’t understand why anyone goes to that site.
For the same reason people go to the zoo...............
Get off reddit....there are 80 million+ voters in this country who should never support any “woke” entity in any way possible. If one has no choice, minimize participation.
If we stop participation we destroy their profit margin and they disappear. No profit...no business...no support for wokeism.
I was banned from the Reddit politics board for saying Trump won in 2020. They are a bunch of snowflakes.
Or in the corporate media.
