Dancing with the Stars didn't air a new episode this week because of Tuesday's vice presidential debate, and Democratic nominee Tim Walz wants fans to know he appreciates the sacrifice.
During his closing statements on Tuesday, Oct. 1, Walz addressed those watching at home and thanked them for tuning into the events on the debate stage instead of the DWTS ballroom this week.
As seen in footage from the end of the debate posted to TikTok, Walz, 60, could be heard telling viewers, "Thank you all of you if you're still up, and the folks who missed Dancing with [the] Stars, I appreciate it."
"he's so real for that," one user on TikTok wrote in response to the clip, while someone else reiterated, "He gets it."
"thank you for acknowledging my struggle," another commenter added.
"i mean this should immediately sway everyone's vote," someone else said of Walz, who is running alongside Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. During Tuesday night's debate, Walz faced off against his opponent JD Vance, running mate to Republican candidate Donald Trump.
"OUR KING" another TikTok user wrote about Walz, while others called him "Iconic" and "a man of the people," for addressing DWTS fans directly.
"All 10s for him," someone else quipped.
But despite the sacrifice fans of the ballroom dancing competition series had to make this week, they will be reaping the benefits next week when DWTS airs not just one, but two episodes.
The special two-night event will kick off on Monday, Oct. 7 with Soul Train Night, followed by Hair Metal Night on Tuesday, Oct. 8, during which a double elimination will take place.

‘Our future is at stake’: Over 200 retired military leaders endorse Trump

Flag Officers 4 America, a group comprised of more than 200 retired admirals and generals, has endorsed former President Donald Trump for reelection in a signed letter Monday stating that Trump is a “proven leader who will secure our border, repulse our adversaries, revitalize our economy and keep America safe and strong.”
“Today our Nation has never been more divided as the cultural war, supported by the Democratic party, divides our citizens into conflicting groups,” they wrote. “Recent evidence is the widespread riots on university campuses with students and faculty supporting terrorist organizations, Hamas and Hezbollah, blatantly flying their flags on American soil and burning our US national flag.” Those endorsing Trump include generals from the US Army, Air Force and Marines and admirals from the US Navy.
“While this divisive domestic strife is dividing our Country, our foreign enemies have been on the march, taking advantage of the political/social disorder in America,” they continued.
The group noted that the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation has assessed the US military as “weak” and highlighted a congressional report that said America could well be defeated in a war with “peer and near-peer adversaries.”
“The influx of countless millions of unvetted illegals from 160 countries, including ~100,000 Chinese, most of military age, plus thousands of criminals and terrorists, place America at great risk … Border security is national security.”
“We must ask: ‘Is our national security stronger or weaker today than four years ago?’” the letter asked. “The answer is clear. We urge our fellow Americans to join us in supporting the election of Donald J. Trump for president. Our future is at stake.”

Vance said that early on right after he was picked - the VP doesn’t matter in an election. Then in the next sentence he turned it around to focus on Kamala. “It shows how radical and out-of-touch she is with the values of American voters....”
It does that every time he speaks - he turns it into something about Kamala. As he did in the debate.
All of his Q&A’s with reporters (after every speech he gives) has given him a lot of experience in the short time that he has had to hone his responses. Perhaps if Walz had done that he might have done a bit better.
Tim Walz’ entertainment value is probably timeless. But it is probably not applicable in many ways to the job he is seeking.
He has dreams of adequacy. Just about on the level of Harry Truman’s Vice President, Alben W. Barkley, who was some seven older than Harry.
Future scenario. Vote fraud and ballot counting cheating results in Harris-Walz victory.
Harris does not survive long in January, 2025.
Walz takes off the mask and the country goes Chinese Communist.

Someone who misspeaks to that extent shouldn’t be anywhere near the White House. Even for the VP it can be a high pressure job...
The thing that puzzles me these days is that Democrats don’t seem to be offended by the short shrift their own candidates are giving them. Harris doesn’t seem to think she owes her voters any real campaigning, real interviews, town halls, etc. The party is taking the voters completely for granted - and the voters are laying down for it.

Every time I see “DWTS” I do a double take thinking it’s “DWCS”, which is Dana White’s Contender Series. Since us fans did, in fact, miss Dana White’s Contender Series last night so we could watch the debate, I think JD Vance should apologize to us—it’d be a funny rebuttal to limp-wristed Walz.
I heard he meant to say the victims of school shooters, but that wasn’t him clarifying it—it was someone merely guessing.
Seemed that way to me.

If so, I wonder if this is another lie that can’t be corroborated. He seems to just talk off the top of his head and say anything that he thinks will pump up his image.
