What happens if the Democrats succeed in getting Trump on attempt #3 or attempt #4? Does the RNC have a plan for what to do? J. D. Vance has a lot of good qualities but he is pretty young to become President, so it might be better to keep him in the No. 2 spot and select a Republican governor for the No. 1 spot (Abbott, Burgum, DeSantis, Youngkin come to mind as possibilities). It would be a chaotic situation and hard to tell who has the most support and the best chance of winning. If it is very close to Nov. 5 it might be hard to determine the wishes of the party’s rank and file.
