This will hurt him pretty badly I think, it will undermine much of what he wanted to campaign on and much of his value to the presidential race.

I am loathe to criticize someone who has served, in any capacity.

But I am done with Democrats.

If this were 1972 and the candidate were George McGovern, I could have found it in myself to rationalize it, and to think that we had political differences, but I would render him default respect for having served.

But the Democrat Party of 2024 is a very different beast.

In my opinion, any ex-Military who is part and parcel of the 2024 Democrat Party has drawn a defining line that puts them in the category of a domestic enemy of this Republic. The fact that they support what that party does completely repudiates the oath they took to protect and defend this country from its enemies both foreign and domestic.

I may be old fashioned, but I took that oath, and I keep it near to my heart, even if I could not march 20 miles or carry a shipmate up a ladder out of a burning compartment any longer. It means as much to me as the vows I took when I married my wife.

And I don’t think any Democrat who took that oath and supports what that party does can hold both that oath and their actions as a Democrat side by side without one invalidating the other.

I expect Democrat behavior from the likes of Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. I don’t see them as having any moral compass that serving in the military often installs in people. Or, used to, at least. But when I see Democrat behavior from people who served, it makes me angry.

I see it as a form of betrayal, and it seems more impactful than if it came from the likes of Clinton, Obama, and Biden, because I know they are scorpions. I fully expect it from them.

In that context, Walz is deserving of all abuse, ridicule, and stripping of any prestige he may have expected to retain from his service. And I hope he gets all of that. In spades.

And check this out: Walz and his bride were married on June 4, 1994; the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre—and that was not a coincidence.

Looks like Walz is going to get roasted for lying about his military service and desertion of his post, and I HOPE IT CONTINUES! Very few things make my blood boil, but his cowardice and desertion of his fellow troops is definitely one of them.

From Fox News...

Walz...claimed he carried a gun "in war," despite never experiencing active combat.

As a young Airman stationed in England in the late 60s (a time when the Vietnam war was going full blast), I was issued a rifle during an alert.

Although proud of my service (and I did much in support of the war effort in a previous assignment in a country near Vietnam) I wouldn't dream of stealing honor by saying I carried a gun in war.

An important point of honorable service is not stealing honors merited only by others in uniform.

“An important point of honorable service is not stealing honors merited only by others in uniform.”

Well said. I retired in 1995 and I was one of those that he misrepresents. I hope he chokes on saying his oath to protect and defend. He doesn’t deserve any better.

There are those of us who join the military solely for the resume factor for future political aspirations. I consider John Kerry, Pete Buttigieg and I think Tim Walz had some of those aspirations too.

Not hardly. Couldn’t get a job in 68, draft status 1A ended up doing 68-76. Never once used that as a political office resume enhancer. Never once claimed a rank I didn’t have nor say I was stationed/deployed somewhere I wasn’t. The only thing I used my 8+ years of service for was to take advantage of the GI Bill.

Actually McGovern was a fighter pilot during World War II and served his country well. After WWII is when his ideas went South
