A very wise libertarian politician in Melbourne, Australia, said to me once that the most dangerous thing is for all the guns to be in one set of hands.
Over concentration of gun ownership in government run police forces in Australia leads to police arrogance and incompetence.
7 News reported yesterday about an incident in New South Wales: "Two police officers have been charged with assaulting a 92 year old man who suffered a broken arm and serious bruising when they tried to arrest him.
It happened in January but the two constables were only stood down today.
It's already been compared to the police tasering of elderly dementia patient Clare Nowland."
In this latest incident, the police were acting on a complaint from the old guy's senile wife.

“Over concentration of gun ownership....”?
Y’all gave up your human right to protect yourself and your property when you did not insist on gun ownership by citizens. This was a decision of your ancestors and yours — since you have not changed it.
Live with the consequences.
The Australian police got their taste of absolute power during the strictly enforced lock downs. Once you get a taste of that kind of power, you’ll never give it up.
God is watching and taking notes- Those who commit evil and do not repent will wish they had when they stand before Him on judgement day!
Yes Indeed.
Power.
Corruption.
Absolutism.
Yes indeed.
Praise Our Lord.
As the Serbians say, “Boze Pravde.”
The God Of Justice.
Hey, a 92 year old Aussie might be a handful.
Australians have only themselves to blame. When they voted in gun control in 1996, the deal was sealed. They became a totalitarian state.
Placing citizens in Concentration Camps during Covid was a byproduct of their giving up their guns.
We must have some law enforcement advisors over there.
You wrote that a 92 year old Aussie “might be a handful.”
A good joke. I do like it. But ,,,,,,,,
What is not a joke is that when you have a woke police force, a woke court system, a woke education system and a woke bureaucracy, them it becomes impossible for police to be held to account.
Two police officers whose combined ages were probably less than 92 could not restrain a 92 year old man without breaking his arm. In his home. He had not committed a crime.
And it takes 5 months for the two cops to be charged.
That’s not a joke.
It is an obscenity.
Having a legal weapon does nothing to stop police brutality, unless you want to die.
I like the spirit of what you are saying.
But it isn’t what happened on 1996.
As I recall it, the main reason John Howard’s conservative government was elected was because he was perceived as a better economic manager than Keating. Gun control wasn’t a big campaign issue.
But very soon after the election there was a horrific killing of innocents by a deranged gunman at a Tasmanian tourist site.
The new Prime Minister Howard took decisive action to buy back many many guns and radically tighten gun laws.
It made him look “great” with the political middle ground because he stared down the right wingers in his government who believed in wider gun ownership. This political happenstance is a reason IMHO that Howard went on to have 4 consecutive election victories. He looked great in the eyes of middle ground people early in his primeministershio. He was also very good on border protection.
I thought the NFA was put to a vote by citizens. I thought wrong. It was fast tracked in just 12 days after the Port Arthur Massacre.
A mandatory buy back confiscated over 650,000 guns. In any event, I see this as the beginning of the end of Basic rights Down Under.

What stops police brutality is an open free speaking society where police who do wrong cannot be hidden.
Australia is a closed scared society where people hide from truth.
America now has The Donald, Senator John Kennedy, Rand Paul, Tucker Carlson, Alan Dershowitz, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr et alii et aliae et alii ..........
So many good different voices so that Biden Harris incompetence cannot hide and Trump leads the polls.
Australia has only a tiny bit of that sort of freedom. Crocodile Dundee got lucky once in NYC with a bigger knife. He was nothing compared with the real manly toughness of Andy Sipowiz or Norman Buntz, who, in turn, were controlled by the likes of Frank Furillo.
At least they got charged. American cops do that and at best get suspended with pay, which out in the normal world we call a vacation.
Urinalists strike again.
“The Australian Police Force Which Murdered 95 Year Old Clare Nowland Last Year Breaks The Arm Of A 92 Year Old Man This Year”
Murdered 95 Year Old Clare Nowland Last Year Breaks The Arm Of A 92 Year Old Man This Year”
If she was murdered last year, how does she break a guy’s arm THIS year?
Could have been worded better to avoid confusion. AI?
the subject of the sentence is the police force.
Australia never had a bill of rights either in law or in the people’s hearts - a penal colony .......
God Bless America
