With Israel's embassies around the world on a heightened state of alert, and extra IDF reservists called up, and home and weekend leave for all combat troops having been abruptly canceled Thursday, the Israeli population is anxiously awaiting a response - with some reports saying residents are already seeking the safety of bomb shelters.
Tehran has vowed that vengeance is coming soon for the Monday Israeli airstrike on its embassy in Damascus. Most pundits believe this will take the form of ballistic missiles raining down on Israeli cities. But Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly vowing that if the Islamic Republic launches missiles from its soil it will ensure "a strong response" from Israel.
Israeli officials have told Axios late in the day that such an act would "take the current conflict to another level" — which most certainly would involve a direct Israel-Iran war and thus the eruption of a broader regional conflict. Axios adds the following observations:
Iranian proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Gaza have attacked Israel but there hasn't been an attack from Iranian soil.
A direct Iranian strike on Israel would be unprecedented and could lead to a regional war in the Middle East.

Just in time to coincide with the eclipse.
Luke 21:25-28
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
What a warning. I guess nobody in that region has experienced
a regional war. Amazing.
Good time to take out Iranian nuke capabilities
Yeah…but in previous regional wars involving Israel they kicked ass, let the attackers go home and left it at that.
Not this time, I’ll bet.
That was the plan all along: Kick the Iranian anthill, the Iranian ants come out to bite, and then Israel get it’s wish: American boots on the ground in Gaza, Israel, and Lebanon.
You are biblical ignorant.
And a borderline Antisemite. Thier is no reason for us to get involved. Israel can take of it.
I doubt that Iran will attack derictly. They are fine using proxies, I think.
yeah lets wait for Iran to get the bomb and see how that goes.
I think you meant to type ‘biblically’.
Take your blood lible and shove it.
“take out Iranian nuke capabilities”
Israel is about to do us a big favor.
Amen
Such an ignorant comment not understanding Israel at all; the last thing Israel wants is Roman boots on the ground in Philistia (Gaza), Israel, and Lebanon.
And the last day of Ramadan.
Actually God has Israel's back, ala the Six Day War.
Iran could instruct Hezbollah to go ahead and launch 50k missiles @ Israel. That leave the Hezzies with ~75k missiles. Most of these are better than the Hamas rockets. Iron Dome would be overwhelmed, and Israel badly hurt, with those 75k rockets still to come.
Does Israel then go after Hezbollah, or Iran? And what about the remnants of Hamas? Will Biden go after Hezbollah to prevent Israel from having to use nukes?
I keep going back to the scene in Babylon 5 where the old Centauri Emperor is on his deathbed and asks about an impending war “How will this end?”
The two word answer:
“In fire.”
I would like to think that. But, realistically, is God going to intervene and knock down 125,000 Hezbollah rockets?
