When I was young, I often wondered what it must have been like to live during the fall of the Roman Empire. Unfortunately, now I have a pretty good idea. Just like the Roman Empire, the United States is falling. Every day our decline gets even more pronounced, and you can see evidence of this all around us. Virtually all of our major institutions are crumbling, and virtually all of our most critical systems are failing. We tend to blame our problems on our politicians, but the truth is that the rot that is rapidly spreading throughout our society runs a lot deeper than that. Millions upon millions of us have completely rejected the values that this nation was founded upon, and so now we have a giant mess on our hands. The following are 12 absolutely insane examples that show just how far the U.S. has fallen…
#1 A social media influencer that returned a couch to Costco after using it for more than two years is telling her followers to buy all of their furniture from Costco because “you can return it when you don’t like it anymore”…

#2 The U.S. Navy is having a really difficult time recruiting young people, and so they have decided that a radical new approach is needed. From now on, a high school diploma will no longer be necessary…

seems like a misuse of the word .
when I was 10 or 11 there was an army/navy/marines/airforce recruiting station near my house.
once a year they had a big party and brought tanks, missile launchers and other military stuff, really cool
I went down there and got to know the guys cause sometimes they would give me stickers or other swag and they would show me card tricks and we would play various other card games.
at the time I liked to make models and they displayed them in the front area.
(someone broke in and stole them one day, but I didn’t really care)
anyway they a year or two later.
after high school I was hit up by a recruiter and took the whatever test.
He said how many do you think you missed, I was like did I get the right answer for #78, he made a big deal of looking at his paperwork and said no.
I said I did not miss any of them then, and he agreed.
how anyone can miss half I have no idea, and if people do I cry for our country
It is heartbreaking.
I NEVER in my wildest dreams expected that this country would collapse as we have seen it nor that it would happen so fast.
Prepping is quickly becoming a necessity, not an option.
I have kind of worried about the last two election cycles, and they weren’t necessarily as disruptive as they could have been, they always get worse. I am very concerned about this one after seeing the antics of the last four or so years......

Each one of those is crazy enough stand alone, put them all together and I don’t even know where we live anymore.

I hear ya. Heartbreaking is indeed the operative word. People aren’t going to be ready for what’s coming after the Rapture hits and believers in Christ are removed. Then it’s full on hell on earth.
It’s sad when you’re thankful that your parents are dead.
To have them see what is going on — No.
The election of 2024 is going to be the most divisive election that any of us have ever seen, our economic problems are rapidly accelerating, and global events threaten to turn all of our lives completely upside down.
So I hope that you have been getting prepared, because things will soon start breaking loose in a major way.
The election of 2024 may certainly be divisive, as the article describes. But, the point of the story, which is obvious to anyone with more than two brain cells, is that we are rapidly spiraling downward. This began many years ago. Probably around the 2008 financial crises -- maybe sooner with invasions and trillions spent on wars around the world, in particular the spectacular failures in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On top of that, we are now stirring up wars with China and Russia that will ultimately devastate what we have as a country if we end up in a conflict.
With war mongers galore and a growing debt heading to $40 trillion, there is no way in hell for us to survive.
This is not 1945. We no longer have the wind at our back. We fritted away the gains of our greatest generation and of our forefathers. One only needs to look at the countries aligning under the BRICS umbrella to see this movement. It's not hard to see if you only look.
This will not end well, and the story is spot on! The only question is WHEN.
It's sad when you grieve for your children who have so much of their lives ahead of them and are facing such an abysmal future.
It's even sadder when you find yourself thinking that if you had known at that time how bad things were going to get now that you would consider not having them.
