Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

Enjoy the meet! Best wishes for your daughter’s success!
Good morning. Happy Friday!
Interesting photo of the rare Hydra Kitteh.
I still have a gunky throat. I went to bed feeling much better than I woke up, which isn’t typical. We’ll see what the weekend brings.
All that time using the same starter Wordle word finally paid off. Time to get a new one.

Good Friday Morning!
More dreariness on the weather front for today...
But that is clearly overshadowed by getting the chance for a new starter word tomorrow... in the past few weeks, the clues generated by this current word had been getting extremely monotonous....

(It was the first time I stuck with a starter word long enough for it to actually pay off...)
“overshadowed” is not the right word... it should be a word that means: “rendered completely irrelevant with no significance...”
How does “rendered moot” feel?
Or you could coin a new word like mootinized.
Yes, “rendered moot” works!
Thanks. It’s a long day, but the kids get a couple hours on the field, so there’s more ROI, if you will, than other sorts of individual competition events, like swimming, where you’re there all day but your kid is only in the water for a couple of minutes.
The weather’s started warming up nicely. Got the house open listening to the birds in the backyard. And the dogs occasionally addressing each other over the neighboring fences.
The healthiest of my kale starts has survived my black thumb, so I’m mulling where would be an apt location for it when I transplant it from the large pot I have it in, now.
My mower is dead, at the moment, so my lawns have exploded into a rather embarrassing state of green unruliness. I may borrow a machine from my neighbor over the weekend to not be an eye sore.

Busy day here. I’ll be leaving for camp no later than 7:00 a.m. It’s two hours door-to-door. There’s been a little rain this evening, but it would have passed over Camp Grimes before the girls got there. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice.
We turned the AC on because the house filled up with smoke from the oven. I suspect DP turned it on too high for the pizza, but I won’t say anything. It’ll be nice not being so hot tonight and having less humidity.
What a sweet pair of babies!
Good morning.
I hope you have a good day at camp, and that your travels are safe.
FD woke up to 2” of snow in CO, this morning, and is concerned about her two fruit trees.
We’re going to hit 85° today, with sunshine! YAY!
As with most places, the humidity here is highest in the morning, so once the sun is out, the humidity drops in a hurry.
Not much is going on today, and for that, I’m glad. I don’t do very well when I have a lot of things going on.
Maybe I’ll spring for a pizza next month to celebrate the birthdays and Mother’s Day! What a great idea! I’m glad you thought of it!
The drive up to camp was foggy for the first hour or so, but it was nice by the time I got there. Everything went fine, and I got home a little before 7:00. Vlad and Frank are back from where they went. Tom was here, but he’s going home. James is at work.
Jake’s been out all day. The male family members are useless at Jake-nurture. Hopefully he’ll come back now that I’m home.
Jake has returned. He knows the male family members don’t care like I do. He’s gobbling his gooshy fud.
I caught a glimpse of Chip yesterday as I came out of the kitchen, headed for the bedroom. He looked to see how far away I was and then went under the sofa the rest of the way. He’s got the scrawniest tail on any cat I’ve ever seen! LOL!
This morning I came into the kitchen to find little kernels of his dry food neatly placed around his dish. I guess he’s telling me he’s not fond of that particular flavor! ;o]
He doesn’t have any trouble with the gooshy fud, but he’s picky about the dry stuff on occasion.
Maybe after my shower, I’ll go take a nap. Stupid kidney.
What a sweet floof.
Good morning. I’m glad things went well at camp for everyone and that Jake welcomed you home.
I’ll go take a shower in a bit, but I’m not looking forward to it. I think the last hour of my sleep was the best I had all night.
I did a dog walk this morning for Kathleen’s customer, since she’s not back from camp yet. The dog was still asleep when I got there, but the mostly-outdoor cat told me what he thought about not being fed yet.
Rain has stopped, but it’s kind of chilly. The Scouts are supposed to be back at their meeting place by 10:45. I’ll send Vlad to pick up Kathleen. The timing is too tight for me to be comfortable with getting to church when we need to.
Some cats are very bossy, no matter who’s responsible for their food.
I’ve got the doors open to cool the place off before the heat of the day comes. I’ve slept with the ceiling fan on the last two nights, and it has helped but at the moment, I want a nap. My eyes feel like two burn-holes in a blanket.
The hot shower felt good, but the bed keeps calling me.
It’s hard to spell, which indicates that I’m tired. Or something.
