Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

Good morning. Happy Friday!

It’s cold here, 18 fs heading for a high of 35. The foreguesses for 5-8 inches of snow through tomorrow afternoon have won out to the point there’s a National Weather Service advisory, so young ArGee will be coming on Sunday instead of tomorrow. I guess we can tolerate one day less.

I think F-I-L is mad that it got cold again. He had just gotten used to having a thing to do outside - riding around on his mower. And for the next few days old man winter has taken that away from him. So he’s grumpy. It’s sad that he can’t really read, can’t hear well enough to watch TV, and has no real hobbies.

I probably couldn’t even hook him on Wordle. But here’s my score for the day. I really thought I was gonna get a 3.

Wordle 1,007 4/6*

After reading about your weather, I don’t feel so bad about my own. Yeah. It could be worse!

Thanks for the perspective. ;o]

Good morning, and not bad. It’s supposed to rain later.

Move the chemicals?

I think I figured out how Chip is getting around. Who knew cats had such powers?

When I was shooting 2- and 3-gun... Running through two cases of 7 1/2 was dead easy... Steel plate and poppers are easier than hitting clays though.

The Browning does make it hard to miss though. :-)

Biggest shift has been the bump up to 12ga. She shot last summer at a local waterfowl club for the first time, and did really well with a 20ga. There’s one or two kids who bring their own 20ga guns, but the Team owns all 12ga, and most others who bring their own are also using 12ga. So, although the Team supplies the ammo for competitions, they only buy 12ga, so anyone swinging a 20ga has to buy their own.

The kids served at a big banquet and auction held locally by California Waterfowl Ass’n; these people blew us away — they made a $15k donation to the Team, which covered all the ammo buys for every competition event for the entire year. On top of that, they were tipping these kids — after collecting it all and dividing it evenly, every Team Member who was there waiting tables walked out with $100.

So here in the belly of The Beast, so to speak, there’s a thriving hunting/sport shooting community who have each others’ backs and are actively supporting the succession of these kids to responsible, skilled participation.

Or there was. Now that you've posted this for the FBI to read, that will change.

Oh, and FBI agents, could you have your care turn off its headlights while they're staking out my house? Thank you.

My company came at around 1230 and stayed until nearly 1400. It was OK, but I felt the need to take them out to eat when it was too late. They were already up and out the door, so I said my goodbyes.

My friend said it was “only a 5-hour drive” from there to here, and I’m thinking she must have had her foot glued to the accelerator for the whole time because it’s at least six hours from here to North Ogden, if not farther!

The one from FL is Shannon’s friend, but I wasn’t introduced, so I don’t even know her name. I waited too long to introduce myself, and like everything else, the moment had passed before I got myself in gear. Not so sure at this point whether they’ll be back, or even if Shannon will.... She probably hates me now!

Anyway, she said she would be back. It was a fun, fast 90+ minutes! And Chip never showed himself once. He was missing some really good lovin’, because both girls are cat lovers.

One works in a hospice in FL and Shannon works in Ogden, where Hill AFB is located. (There used to be a naval supply depot in the area, as well, but I’m sure it’s gone now.)

Anyway, I just fixed Chip’s food (they loved his story) and I need to get some of my own and head down the hall.

I’ll talk to you tomorrow!

I’m glad your visit went okay. We helped at the dinner for the homeless. Last one of the winter. There was a Spanish speaking family, so I was useful.

FS used to volunteer at homeless shelters in Cabot and Little Rock, but he doesn’t do that any more. The VW club he belongs to does a lot of that sort of thing, but it’s in Hot Springs, so he does things like enter in parades for holidays.

He led the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Cabot, in his green VW, so he had fun. I need to send you those photos!

Anyway, I’m beat. Annette is coming by in the morning and will pick up the carrier to take back to Kanab. She wanted me to go with her, but I told her I wanted to go to the temple dedication on Sunday, and if I went to Kanab, I wouldn’t be able to.

So, I’m off to bed! Have a good night!

What a pretty little face!

Good morning. Here’s hoping you had a good night!

What’s the latest Tom News?

Any fun things planned for today?

I’ll try to get to Walmart before Annette comes by, but I don’t know if that will happen. I’ll probably have to wait for her to leave. I need to get Charlie’s letter out. The mail has been coming early on Saturdays and I don’t want to make a trip to the post office if I don’t have to.

I cleaned the floors yesterday, but didn’t do any other cleaning besides make my bed. That doesn’t really classify as cleaning, does it?

Good morning. Not a bad night: I slept so late that Jake was banging on the door because he wanted more gooshy fud.

No news from Tom since last weekend, but he’ll probably turn up to do his laundry.

Kathleen has a riding lesson scheduled this morning at 10:30, but we’ll need to see if yesterday’s rain made things too sloppy at the stable. At 5:00, we have choir practice and birthday parties. I’m going to make fruit salad.

I hope you’re feeling okay today. I have a sinus headache. I’ll have some garlic.

Jake is so rude. Unlike my polite kitty who doesn’t even bother to ask me for food. Somehow, I just automatically fix it for him...and it magically disappears by morning!

How is Kathleen doing with her riding lessons? I meant to ask that the last time you mentioned it, but by the time I got to the part where I was going to, it slipped my mind. Two things happen when you start to get older: 1. You forget things, and 2. I don’t recall what the other one was.

Fruit salad sounds good.

I’m sorry about your sinus headache. I had a migraine last night so my neck is numb on the right side. I don’t know which of the two headaches is worst!

Now, I need to go get dressed.

It’s getting better as I blow my nose! Allergy season.

Kathleen is doing fine. It would take a lot more lessons - ergo, a lot more money - for her to be a serious rider, but she has a good time and is always improving. Getting bigger helps!

It seems I’m always in a place that is in active allergy season! And it seems ragweed is a culprit all year roung.

Glad to know that Kathleen enjoys her experiences with the horses. I don’t really know of anything more fun than being around a horse. And yes, I’ve “mucked stalls” before!

I’m glad she’s improving, as well.

They were riding bareback in the mud today. She was happy. Tom is here doing his laundry and taxes. I’ve made fruit salad for the choir, and we have lettuce salad left over from the homeless dinner.

I used to love riding bareback, so I understand why Kathleen was happy!

The weather can’t decide what it’s going to be doing today. Although it’s been overcast all day, the wind has picked up and the chimes are singing like crazy! It’s going to be cold tonight and into tomorrow, so I’m not looking forward to it. It’s from that series of storms that’s messing up the northern tier of states. Not sure I want to see the outcome!

It’s been so long since I’ve had to do taxes, I think I’ve forgotten how to fill out the forms. Laundry? Not that long ago!

When does Tom have to start school? And how does he like his new job?

No sign of Chip again, of course. But it’s OK. I found a small box that I’ll leave out for him. The Great PV used to use the boxes that we got milk in from the commissary. The boxes would hold six half-gallon cartons of milk, and PV was big enough that he just fit. But if you tossed a paper bag to the floor, he’d try to kill it from the inside. Of course, now, I’m wondering if I’ll ever see Chip do something like that. I should keep a Chip Book so I can mark his progress, and see where he is a year from now.

Great idea! I just happen to have a spare 5” X 7” blank book! Now dedicated to Chip and his progress!

Tom says the new job is fine, after two weeks, but on the other hand, so was the old job. It got cruddy later! I assume he’ll start grad school in the fall.

Good idea getting Chip a box. Cats can’t resist a box! Shannon would get into boxes that were way too small.
