Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

What kind?
Give him his food and water and let him relax. It will probably take a while for his stress hormone levels to drop.
Dunno... they keep changing the name of the breed.
*no actual lupine genetics
He’s got food and water, and I’m not chasing him down. He’ll come out when he’s ready, whether for food or water or to check out his surroundings, but when he does, I won’t chase after him. He’ll come to me to get acquainted when he’s ready to and not a moment sooner.
It may take a month before I see him, but that’s OK. He’s probably been stressed for most of his life and I’m not going to add to it.
Thanks!
Very handsome!
Perfect. Poor guy!
I like big dogs... Most giant breeds die young, have significant health problems, and they either have drool or coat issues... or both.
These are bred and screened for health, longevity, and temperament. The idea of a 120-140lbs lapdog with a high shedding coat that “looks” like a wolf has a lot of appeal to me.
My last dog, Moka, was only with us for 11 years. A mutt, she had a lot of Goldie and Shepherd in her and was around 100 lbs. We were constantly brushing her coat and knotting was a constant issue.
I had a King Shepherd growing up... BIG dog... 150 lbs. He was 15 when his health issues caused us to have him put to sleep. He’d blow his coat twice a year. We frequently joked that we should save it, card it and make yarn from it. Blankets for all...
Next time you are at the store, see if you can find some braunschweiger. It’s a super soft and mild sausage. In-laws had a Springer Spaniel that had tooth decay problems. Soft foods... with braunschweiger as a treat and to bury meds in, seemed to help him be a happy pooch.
Or, as we always called it, liverwurst.
No joke. My sister used to brush her Sheltie, spin his hair into yarn, dye it with Kool-Aid and give it to family members who knitted or crocheted.
I have a beret and scarf made from that wool -- the beret was dyed with grape Kool-Aid and came out the most stuning steel gray you've ever seen. The "white" was more cream-colored. And it was luscious to work with!
Yeah, the protocol was heart-breaking to read. He’s home, now. He’s got his forever home, even though he doesn’t know it.
If I can’t find it at the store, I’m sure Amazon sells it!
Thanks!
If I think of it as liverwurst... I can’t eat it. Psychological block...
Go figure...
Have you seen him out, or evidence that he was out, since you’ve been back?
Windy here today, but clear as a bell.
Odd thing to say, because I recently began Following Wendy Bell on Rumble. What a firebrand she is! Catch her live 6-9am Eastern. Or listen at your leisure as the streams are archived on Rumble. Honestly, if you get 10 minutes into her show and don’t like her — you might not be an American.

Spent the other night making what ended up being 5 dozen kourabiedes for a Festival to Dionysus in my daughter’s drama class. These are Greek butter cookies made mostly from whipped butter, flour, and powdered sugar then topped just after baking with a snowy layer of more powdered sugar.
Dunno what it is with kids, these days, but nearly 40 of those cookies came back from the school. I mean — OK. Happy me. We get to enjoy more of the fruits of our labors, but — geez! What in the world is with these kids that so few want COOKIES?? It’s like they’ve been impressed with some weird dietary neurosis or something... Inexplicable.
My Wordle 1,000 and scored the usual 4.

I’m enjoying the entree into your new feline adventure.
We some years back brought home a tabby tomcat who’d been bounced to a few different foster situations. He was audibly worried on the ride to the house, and kept a very low profile for a few days. The 24lb deep chocolate tomcat we already had didn’t greet him warmly, either; they scrapped a few times at the outset. Within the month, though, they were buddies for life; frequently found curled up together. You’d sit down somewhere in the house and, before long one of them would come curl up next to you, and then, pretty soon, here the other would come along.
BEST.
CATS.
EVER.
Hope your new guy proves their equal.
Frank the Son agrees that they’re beautiful.
No, but I heard him about an hour ago. It sounded like he changed positions. I’ll just let him sleep until he’s done. He’s been under stress for quite a few years, so being able to rest undisturbed will be healing for him.
I may see him tomorrow or the next day, but I won’t worry about it. If he goes exploring, it will be while I’m asleep, but I’ll either hear him or see him.
