Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

What a sweet little cali!
Good morning. I hope you slept well, and that Jake didn’t knock on your door during the night.
I, too, have no problem going to bed when it’s still light out, though the time change messes with me horribly. I just have to go to bed when the stamina begins to ebb.
I got up about 0445 and turned the heater on in the living room, then went back to bed. I woke up at 0610 and dozed for another forty minutes. A Tiw’s Day when I didn’t have to get up for any reason after a laundry day! YAY!
I think it’s trash day here, too, but I don’t live by the dumpster any more, and I only take trash out once or twice a week, so I’m just not sure. If I take it out on Saturday, or Monday, I can bet the dumpster will be mostly full.
Just when I was getting to the point where I didn’t have to turn the moon on, I have to turn the moon on again. Stupid time change.
*agree*
AND! I forgot to tell you that this little town sees a good portion of the 4.6+ million visitors a year that go to Zion’s National Park!
Which is why we have such a broad main street.
And now, I have to go get dressed....
Last couple of days have been brutal trying to get to sleep. Took another major certification test today... Passed.
Adding another feather to my IT Nerd cap... Going to have to upgrade it from a cockade to a full blown tricorn at this rate...
That sounds like a lot of folks!
Congrats! 👍🏻
I’ve been falling asleep fairly easily, but waking up about an hour later or so and feeling pretty much wide awake....
Congratulations!
Somehow, I can envision you with the tricorn, as well as a couple of gold earrings and a parrot on your shoulder... Don’t forget to swash your buckler!
Oh. Wrong scenario. Sorry!
Thankfully, I only run into them when I make the mistake of stopping at 7-11/McDonald’s for either gas for the Raisin or a sausage breakfast for me.
But yeah — lots of tour buses and vans from Asia, as well as private vehicles with crazy drivers. Still, it keeps the village alive! ;o]
Two ear-rings... left ear. No tricorn, but I do have one of those felt Cavaliers hat’s with an ostrich plume in it...
... and a wide-brimmed Fedora, and a top-hat, and...
Also, no buckler... But I do have two different sword belts and a heavy-duty baldric...
The Cavalier’s hat with an ostrich plume will do just fine! I can see it all now!
I can hardly wait for Hallowe’en! (Why do I have to wait so long?)
Apparently, India is off by 9 1/2 or 10 1/2 hours from the U.S. depending on whether we are on Standard or Savings Time.
I think we should split the difference and match India and be 30 minutes off from the rest of the world.
Then when all our H1B friends call home, or work from home, the math won’t be so hard.
I have staunchly refused to become IT certified after about 2012. It’s become a cash cow scam for the certification industry.
I can’t tell you how many certified people I wouldn’t give a dime to, and how many uncertified people I can’t even find available because they’re so good at their jobs.
Trying to move from engineering over into the SIEM/Security team. Going to change my license plates to “Hacker1”...
Company implemented a new program where they not only pay for the exam when you pass, but if you are within some random quota of those the company needs certified... you get a bonus on top of that. In this case, around $1200 on top of the $404 cost of the exam...
Further... this might kick me up to a Sr. Engineer rank. We’ll see...
What could go wrong?
That would make it worthwhile to you. I’m not sure what it gives your company.
Have fun with the hacking. Are you going White Hat?
Probably either Purple or Blue team to start. Fits with our business model. We’re partners with Fortigate, Sentinel 1, and Carbon Black. We also purchased IT Weapons and a couple of other cyber-sec companies.
Right now, I am still visiting client sites for projects and general upkeep/IT augmentation. Moving over into Security means I’m 99% remote unless we need to go on-site to do a forensic deep dive. I’d also be National instead of just Regional.
I know a few of the guys/gals on that Team. Good people and I think I’d be a good fit.
Especially if I could manage to do some of it while rough camping in the mountains on my motorcycle or from the deck of my catamaran in the Atlantic...
... once I get around to buying a catamaran in the Atlantic that is...
Best to you for your plans. I hope you have Star Link.
