The Anti-Cruelty Society's annual Fall In Love adoption event in Chicago proved to be an overwhelming success this year. Within a few hours, all the shelter's adoptable pets found loving forever homes, except for one. This heartwarming story revolves around a sweet pup named Elvis, who captured the hearts of many potential adopters but remained without a family.

Glad he found a home after all.
Garage dog, good to bark and bite. Don’t leave him alone with children.
I suspect shelters are disproportionately full of pit bull mixes that are difficult to place.
A few years ago I looked into adopting a shelter dog and all of them for a 50 mile radius were pitbull or pit mixes.
Those two look like there's a low probability of kids.
Your suspicion is correct. I’ve looked for dogs twice this year, and viewed many many shelters online. A solid 60% at each and every place are pit or pit mixes. Another 20% are Chihuahas, German Shepherds, or Huskies. I’m absolutely not kidding “All other” are only about 20%

You should not be scared of pit mixes. They are generally sweeter than chihuahuas, love kittens and children. Heelers on the other hand....
That’s way too much tongue!!!
That’s the Little Rascal’s Dog
Loving to rip them apart is not *loving* them.
I adopted a mix that I thought was an adorable corgi blend but the DNA test showed his parents were a chihuahua and a Siberian Husky!!!!
He is so well trained, very vocal (I laugh every single day at his conversations!) and loves everyone!
Considering how the pit defenders adamantly insist that it’s their upbringing and training that can override their kill instinct, adopting a shelter dog is a high risk proposition at best.
Nobody knows what a pit or pit mix has been exposed to that make it a living time bomb.
Famous last words.
Allegedly “...found loving forever homes.” Only time will tell.
Pitbulls are the only dog breed on earth where we’re just supposed accept they don’t have innate behaviors bred into them.
I’ve had 2. Biggest babies in the world. Heelers will rip your face off. And I have a Catahoula.
Shelters are filled with pitts because of people like our neighbors. Their favorite female pitt has dropped 28 pups in the last three years, and she’s pregnant again!
