Permanent Washington needs to fund the military industrial complex, and the grift machine.

What Western leaders conspicuously haven’t done is level with their publics about the enduring nature of the threat from an emboldened, revisionist Russia.

Such honesty would require them to justify the reasons for why this is essential for their nations, what their national interests in this conflict are. They never have because the cannot. hence they will never speak honestly about this war.

Our resident low IQ neocons are a bit slower than average. It will be a spell before they come around. One day we will come here and they will ask, Ukraine who? Almost like it never happened. Then their gaze will be averted to the next shiny thing.

Putin’s hold on power was, paradoxically, strengthened...

Paradoxically in your own pea brain.

If this moron was around during WW2, he would have recommended surrendering to Germany in 1943.

Unless the NATO countries are willing to put their own troops in the field, there’s no way this war ends up like 1945.

The more strident warmongers onboard will never give up on the grift.
They’re emotionally invested, it’s become an identity facet for them.

A fascinating thread, with strident disagreement from all us actually non-playing characters, in a far larger story.

Here is a fresh "the narrative shifts" citation for all the pro-Z and pro-P folks, as a bit of reality gets some headlines....

"Western officials’ promises of reinvigorating their own defense industries have collided with bureaucratic and supply-chain bottlenecks. Meanwhile, sanctions and export controls have impeded Putin's war effort far less than expected. Russian defense factories are ramping up their output, and Soviet legacy factories are outperforming Western factories when it comes to much-needed items like artillery shells.

"The technocrats responsible for running the Russian economy have proven themselves to be resilient, adaptable, and resourceful. Elevated oil prices, driven in part by close cooperation with Saudi Arabia, are refilling state coffers. Ukraine, by contrast, depends heavily on infusions of Western cash."

It's Time to End Magical Thinking About Russia's Defeat Wall Street Journal, 16 November 2023

Seems the Wall Street Journal joins a list of media which are dialing down some PR in favor of the coming narrative.

What’s totally ironic about your statement is that the U.S. DID, in fact, “surrender” in 1945 — to the Soviet Union, at the Yalta Conference.

You had to use quotes because we didn’t.

Thanks for sharing the latest Russian propaganda talking points.

These kinds of articles always appear when the Russian military is in trouble in Ukraine.

Do you know what the Russian MOD is so worried about now? Could it be losing access to the M-14 highway?

I used quotes because the U.S. and USSR were not formally at war.

But there’s no doubt that the decrepit FDR signed away Eastern Europe to Stalin and consigned the people of those countries to decades of misery.
