A neighbor I respect the utmost, of Eastern European birth, a decorated Marine, anti-Communist hero who has no illusions about Russia viz USSR, and very pro-Uke in this conflict, told me the other day that he’s confident the Russians won’t get Odessa. But they’ll keep everything else they’ve already taken, plus strategic advantages.
Says he’s praying for Trump to get back to end the insanity day one of his next administration.
I have neighbors here in Florida who work in the “military industrial complex”. They’re all vets. Mostly career and retired military. I don’t expect they would be happy being smeared as “grifters” after spending most of their adult lives serving this country.
The reality is Ukraine is still Ukraine despite a near two years of genocidal invasion by the biggest country in the world. The reality is Russia has been exposed as fake, corrupt, Potemkin and anything but a Super Power. The reality is no amount of day dreaming by the Kremlin’s useful fools and fellow travelers is going to change any of that.
