Pro-Palestinian Harvard Students' First Lesson in Job Hunting - CEOs Not Interested in Hamas Supporters

One thing that is always noticeable about the actions of the left is that they never seem to comprehend the big picture. It's like they are virtually incapable of looking beyond next week at the most. However, if you are a college student, one might think that planning for the future is something that you do regularly, especially at a premier university like Harvard. You attend that school because you are in the academic elite. But apparently, many of the current crop of Harvard students have yet to figure out that the internet is forever, and what you post there follows you.

I have been asked by a number of CEOs if @harvard would release a list of the members of each of the Harvard organizations that have issued the letter assigning sole responsibility for Hamas’ heinous acts to Israel, so as to insure that none of us inadvertently hire any of their… https://t.co/7kzGOAGwp9— Bill Ackman (@BillAckman) October 10, 2023

Since the horrific attack on Israel by Hamas, not only has the world witnessed the atrocities committed by this group, but we have also witnessed outright celebrations of the murders of innocent people by those who support Hamas. Sadly, but perhaps not surprisingly, many of these demonstrations can be seen on America's college campuses, which have become little more than indoctrination centers for young people.

But for those who support the murder of innocents, their extracurricular activities may come back to haunt them after graduation when they start looking for a job. Bill Ackman is a billionaire hedge fund manager and a Harvard alumnus. He tweeted on Tuesday that he had been contacted by "a number of CEOs" wanting to know if Harvard would disclose the names of students who belong to the campus organizations that recently signed onto a letter that stated that these student groups held "the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence." The reason behind wanting the students' names made public? So these CEOs can be sure they never hire any students involved in these organizations.

Among the corporate heads who want to make sure they never employ those who signed the letter as part of a student group is CEO of Sweetgreen Jonathan Neman, who stated bluntly in response to Ackman's tweet, "I would like to know so I know never to hire these people." Jake Wurzak, CEO of DoveHill Capital Management, was also short and to the point, saying, "I second this." FabFitFun CEO Michael Broukhim was also brief and stated, "We are in as well."

Just those three CEOs alone appeared to be enough to scare the Harvard snowflakes into fearing for their future employment opportunities. Five of the student groups who signed the letter abruptly retracted their support stated in the letter. The Harvard Undergraduate Nepali Student Association apologized if their support in the letter had been "interpreted as a tacit support for the recent violent attacks in Israel." Well, when the name of your organization appears on a letter that specifically blames Israel for the attacks, yeah, that might be construed as a bit of "tacit support."

Harvard President Claudine Gray also swooped in to provide a bit of cover to the students, as well as a bit of CYA for the University, and stated that she condemned "the terrorist atrocities perpetrated by Hamas" and "while our students have the right to speak for themselves, no student group" speaks for the college or its leadership." As if the students at Harvard needed a reason to look even more irresponsible and uneducated about the conflict, Danielle Mikaelian was a board member of one of the groups who signed the letter. She stepped down from that position on Tuesday, calling her group's signing of the letter "egregious." But the best part, Mikaelian, a Harvard Law student, stated that, because of a lack of any "formal process" for approval, she did not read the letter before her group signed on to it. Probably not too many law firms looking to hire lawyers who don't read documents before signing them.

Ivy League universities like Harvard are not the only ones getting on the anti-Israel bandwagon. Colleges and Universities all over the nation are scheduling demonstrations and protests that are in support of Palestinians. Universities from California to North Carolina have held or are planning pro-Palestinian protests. But on the bright side, students all over the country will also get these valuable lessons in job hunting.

A safe choice is to denounce violence and encourage dialogue for peace & negotiations. There may be times when the use of force is justified. I really don’t know enough about the current situation to know for sure. Everything I’ve heard is from distant news sources with some of their own credibility issues. But from what I can tell it’s looking like a very serious situation. Maybe Israel is really justified to use force? It also looks like Hamas is in the wrong here and that they’ve committed mass murder :( The crimes committed against people should be treated no more leniently than would happen in your typical American city - murder, rape, robbery, conspiracy, and anything else.

One thing getting overlooked is the real situation on the ground that’s not going to get any easier due to this war :( There are 5.6 million people with most way below the poverty line in an area the size of Philadelphia, approx 140 square miles. Its like one big huge prison. Even if Israel “wins” its not a long-term win if the world doesn’t address this.

And I don’t see any easy answer :( I’d hate to be stuck being a citizen of Gaza.

Actually there is a very short list of schools to hire from. Most state schools are leftist dross. Hard to find schools with educated students.

Ha! So they’re scared and are retracting their original statements. Too late. We know what’s in their hearts.
