What the heck is “La Familia”? It sounds like some sort of Hispanic group, which is obviously not the case here.

From Wikipedia:
“La Familia is an ultras group which supports the Israeli Premier League club Beitar Jerusalem. The group primarily consists of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish descendants of the Jewish exodus from Arab countries and is known for its far-right, nationalist extremism.”
Far-right, nationalist extremism, by Wikipedia standards, probably just means they are regular, everyday conservatives.

Thank you.
We have an Italian restaurant here called “La Famiglia” and I thought the writer had misspelled the name as a “Godfather” reference!................

La Familia is the ultra football supporters’ group for Beitar Jerusalem. Established in 2005, they since have earned several global headlines for their opposition to signing Muslim and Arab players. The group has been documented chanting “death to Arabs” during matches and has gotten the club fined tens of thousands of dollars for their racist behavior towards Israeli-Arabs and Muslims during games.
According to some estimates, La Familia has between 3,000 and 5,000 members. More importantly, they have a lot of power within Beitar Jerusalem.

It was explained that under emergency war powers that hospitals treat jews and citizens, and military medics treat all non-Israelis. Could be BS, but was reported on Al-Jazeera (which between CNN and them, providing excellent coverage if you can have a barf-bag close by when the “journalists” start opining.

The group is notorious for chants insulting Arab players, and for displaying the flag of the banned Kach party. Chants with lines including "death to the Arabs" and "Muhammad is a homosexual" are common. The horrors! "Death to Arabs" -- that has a familiar ring to it. Karma is a bitch as they say.
"Muhammad is a homosexual" -- that's a mighty formal way of putting it.
