Ewww, there’s a reason God put fur on them.
Humans are weird. Humans inbreed features that they like because they think that it is “cute” and you end up with animals that have serious health problems or wouldn’t survive long in the wild without assistance from humans.
“Hairless dogs” and “Hairless cats”
Sounds more like a euphemism than a pet.
We have two cats (not hairless). It never ceases to amaze me how much hair I pull out if the carpet when I vacuum. Having said that, I would never own a hairless cat. Nothing against them, they just give me the creeps…
Cats are cool!
Daughter animal sat for a friend once
Said the hairless sphinx cat left little butt-pucker marks on the coffee table
Gross
The dogs look much better than the cats...
The dogs look much better than the cats; but some of the cats are intriguing (the Sphinx looks like a little old person who lived an interesting life...)
fleas and ticks less of a problem...
I have a Smooth Coat Grand Champion Chihuahua showing in the dog show ring now. The Breed standard calls for either a smooth coat or long coat Chihuahua. They have to have hair!! It doesn’t allow for hairless Chihuahuas in the standard. If people are breeding them, it certainly isn’t accepted among reputable breeds and would be highly frowned upon. Nor would it be accepted or registered by the American Kennel Club as there is no line item for a hairless Chihuahua.
WHERE CAN I GET A Xoloitzcuintli??? (dog #1)
He looks like such a good boy!!
Having had 4 of these breeds, they are wonderful dogs! Each one has their own personality.
