The town of Lahaina, Hawaii, looks like it’s been “bombed,” The Daily Signal’s Tony Kinnett says after visiting fire-devastated areas on the island of Maui.
Kinnett, investigative columnist for The Daily Signal, spent five days on the ground in Lahaina and elsewhere on Maui. Where government officials have failed, he says, locals have stepped up to serve the needs of the community.
“The locals are universally angry at the federal response,” Kinnett said, and “it’s very common for individuals to have already given thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars out of their bank accounts to complete strangers in order to help compensate them for this incredible loss.”
Kinnett joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss what is known about how the devastating wildfires started on Maui, residents’ frustration with government officials’ response, and how President Joe Biden was received Monday on the island.

This is a Woke Democrat disaster. From the official who turned off the water then refused to turn it back on for 5 hours due to “equity concerns” to the police who blocked the exit route and turned would be escapers around back into the fire to the Democrats who said this would be a great opportunity to build a futuristic city on the land. Incompetence was not involved. Wokitude was. And the survivors will surely strike back by voting straight Democrat again. After all the Democrats are the Caring People.
I’d be more pissed at the locals who forced people to stay in the fire zone.
From what has been shown, this was not a “wild”fire....IMO

I believe every fire is differant by how & what& where it burns and the following destruction in its path.
I went & looked up
a fire in Paradise Calif residential area that decimated everything in its path. I believe its been 2 yrs since and there is no sign of rebuilding.
This neighborhood was burned out just like Lahaina.
And don’t forget they refused to set off the sirens to warn people about the fires.
This looks like mass murder. I cannot fathom that level of incompetence.
Why is it the Feds responsibility? Isn’t Statehood kind of like Adulthood, where yopu have to learn how to take care of your own problems...?
They only have themselves to blame. They should have identified as Ukrainians. That’s where relief money goes to die.

As a nation, we are going straight to hell because of this attitude. In my later years, I’m beginning to understand the power of brainwashing. I guess my Master’s degree in history had to be backed up by actual, lived experience.
Snopes has their usual disclaimer of the events; but they offer no evidence of proof of life after Aug. 17 to back their disclaimer that Hicks exists.
Also their media will quickly forget about Maui.
I looked over and CNN and this story is treated like an afterthought.

This is a blue state if there ever was one that consistently votes for rats. They voted for the current regime, now they are getting their dividends.
And they will continue to vote for rats like the Maui debacle never happened.

That was the original concept with both the federal/state governments and parents raising their children. Thanks to the democrats, this is all reversed now. Both states and parents now have fewer and fewer rights as the federal government grows bigger and bigger.
And the people will still keep voting for it. The federal teet is so good people come out of their graves to vote for it.
