Distraught Maui Fire Victim Pleads with Biden for Support: “Where Is the President?” – WATCH

A distraught and tearful Maui fire resident pleaded with Joe Biden to help, saying there was hardly any government support for the victims.

“Where is the president?” she said, calling Biden out for not coming to Hawaii until the following Monday.

“Aren’t we Americans, too? Like we’re part of the United States, but why are we being put in the back pocket? Why are we being ignored?” she asked.

Ella Sable Tacderan told Kaitlan Collins that the $700 Biden sent to affected households was nowhere near what is needed in living expenses due to “expensive” grocery prices.

Tacderan said, “The Maui community has been helping the Maui community.”

Biden has repeatedly ignored reporters’ questions about the deadly Maui fire.

However, Biden issued a video Thursday morning that ABC’s Good Morning America dutifully broadcast and showed on ABC’s jumbotron in Times Square:

Later on Thursday, Biden again refused a contemporaneous comment to reporters:

Locals are now organizing themselves in the absence of government help:

As CBS reported, a Maui pro surfer @Kai_Lenny talks about the volunteer army that has stepped up to provide supplies for the community of Lahaina.

“I haven’t seen one state, county, or federal official at any of the donation hubs where people are most suffering,” he said.

They can make the Katrina comparison to prevent that. “Bush was wrong with New Orleans and now Biden is wrong with Maui.”

Why do you think the locals have been disarmed! It’s almost impossible to buy guns in HI. Can’t have a pissed off population revolt.

I wish voters would remember during voting that this is the same gubmint that promises it can take care of you.

Gubmint fails at practically every level.

I don’t know why we don’t have a couple of Navy ships from San Diego or Pearl heading to Maui to help with fresh water and medical needs.

Now, if Trump were in office the media would be running non-stop stories of the issues in Maui and proclaiming him to be as bad as they did Bush during Katrina....which was not his fault as we will recall.

The cruise ships helped with water and food during the hurricanes in San Juan and St Thomas and took people to other islands.

Theres cruise ships in Hawaii but they havent been asked to help.

The US Navy is in Pearl Harbor just a few hours away...

Theres still an airport on the other side of Maui .. Food and supplies could have been flown in by the USAF at Hickam AB and then put on trucks and helicopters...

10 days and theres still American citizen people who need shelter food etc...

Meanwhile illegal aliens in NYC get help right away...and Democrat politicians worrying about them...

Why arent the Democrat politicians in Hawaii concerned about their own residents ???

Why is Joe sending billions to foreigners in the Ukraine but his own American citizens are begging for help ???

Billions for tribute/blackmail...

The Maui situation, while horrible, is not an issue for the President of the United States under our Constitution. One of the reasons our nation is in the mess we are in is the expectation politicians and bureaucrats in DC can micromanage and solve the problems of every community in America.

This is a situation the governor and local officials should be managing. The governor can call out the national guard to protect citizens, erect temporary shelter, and distribute food. He can request disaster aid from FEMA and help facilitate the distribution of the aid. He can ask the President to deploy the military resources in the state to assist with disaster operations.

In response to the devastating destruction of hurricane Ian in 2022 Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis demonstrated the type of effective crisis leadership required of a competent governor. How is Hawaii’s Democrat governor performing? Apparently not very well if Hawaiians are begging Joe Biden to save them.

Maui is a state problem, not a national problem. Governor John Green has state resources under his command and the ability to draw on federal resources and private resources. Hawaiians should be demanding accountability from their governor.

Blame Biden for his own many failings. Disaster response in Hawaii is not his responsibility, just as the poor state and local government response to Katrina was not the fault of President Bush. If we conservatives believe in our Constitution, and the role of the states, let’s don’t be hypocrites like the Democrats and the media were in blaming Bush for Katrina. The Maui situation is an epic fail of governance by local Democrat officials similar to the anarchy and decay of many cities across America. Call it what it is.
