... are really just saying "We're done bleeding the U.S. dry -- let's get some cash now from China and Russia et al."? Do they just see another new source for handouts, now that U.S. has driven itself into impossible levels of debt?
This has been on my mind a lot lately. It took something like a decade for the EU to get its act together at the start -- and those countries, at least, had many things in common. I don't see how a BRICS-type arrangement can hold itself together for very long, with so many disparate cultures and varying levels of economic strength (or lack thereof) involved.
My gut tells me that China is planning to pull the wool over the economic eyes of these countries.
I don’t think most Americans have a clue how much they have been brainwashed by Hill and Knowlton about what other countries are like...
There used to be jokes about the USSR. Once in Moscow friends took me out for dinner and to the Moscow Circus, then on the Metro.
They showed me art from the USSR, parents happy to send their son off to war, huge fruits and vegetables supposedly grown in Russia, some other stuff trying to prove how the USSR was superior. Propaganda. They called it that.
We were all laughing.
But now I think this what the US does.
When I was attending a Serbian church and we were about to attack Serbia, CNN was caught on many occasions showing film and claiming it was Belgrade. But it was not.
I don’t think I will ever trust this country again.
And we might be expatting.
When it happens, most folks won’t notice. Unless they buy imports. Or have any investments.
So..mostly Dem’s and the welfare class won’t notice the sky falling. Until their cards don’t work.
Idk. I think they are winning.
And all we had to do was be kind.
But we never were, lately.
Anyone who spends time on international forums has certainly seen the jokes about us.
Not sure its going to be backed by gold as much as it will be pegged to the price of gold.
Also don't think it will be out in 2023.
Definitely a step in the right direction though for the Global South.
As reckless we have been in printing money and having other countries have to buy dollars to keep the value up of the dollar, when/if that changes, inflation will begin to run rampant and destroy the middle class as you say.

Project Sandman has 186 countries signed up to stop using the US Dollar. Most of them are planning to join BRICS+. The petro-dollar and Bretton-Woods agreements are about to go out the door. BRICS has a viable alternative to SWIFT, so withholding access to SWIFT is becoming a toothless threat.
August 22nd is the target date to startup the new alternative current under BRICS.
India is the weak link in BRICS. More than Russia, it has a natural rivalry with China, and has fought several border skirmishes. The country was ruled by Britain for two centuries, and English is effectively the common language. India is not totalitarian unlike China, and does not have the equivalent of the CCP, which is both a Mafia and an enforcer of ideology. Instead of obsessing over Ukraine or now West Africa, the rulers of the West need to court India.

The reaction probably won’t be overnight, it will take some time for this new currency to really eat into the US Dollar, a couple of things I will be watching closely will be how much Saudi Arabia and OPEC buys into this new currency for payment of oil and will any of our Western Allies buy into this new currency, especially EU countries.
“BRICS accounts for 32% of global GDP and 40% of the global population.”
Also, it’s important to be aware of where much of the indispensable commodities are sourced, and many of those locations are in or clamoring to join BRICS. Washington’s arrogance and bullying over the decades is producing a serious competitor for global financial leadership. We ignore this at our peril.
Your concerns change nothing about the lunacy of our out of control spending. That should be your concern.
Oh this is easy.
These countries support and provide slavery.
They’re is no fancy footwork to dance around like there is in the u.s.
We call slavery something else. BRICS simply knows that this will need the slaves that China and NK (among others such as India, and all of Asia) will happily provide.
can I buy it?
WHat can the little guy do now
Say I have 25k I want to spare.
what to do?
So what to do as a smallholder?
How India is slowly moving into the American orbit
New Delhi still fiercely defends its neutrality. But wariness of China is pushing it ever closer to Washington

I’m just hoping that I’m old enough that when it happens, the likelihood of my being dead is over 90%.
