Earlier this year, the American Perspectives Survey collected data from a representative sample of more than 5,000 U.S. adults aged 18 and older. Here I’ll go through and share the results and some thoughts. Some of the findings are predictable. Other results are surprising.
The survey found that women care a lot more about height than men do.
56% of women say they would be less likely to date someone who is “much shorter” than they are, while only 32% of men say they would be less likely to date someone who is taller.
In other words, men are generally okay with dating someone who is taller than themselves but women really don’t want to date a guy who is shorter than them.
The report notes that “No change has altered the fabric of American life so profoundly as the decline of marriage.”
One reason for this is the rise of cohabitation. The number of Americans cohabitating with their romantic partner has more than doubled over the past three decades.
Interestingly, a recent survey found that men in cohabiting relationships are just as satisfied in their relationships as married men, but women in cohabiting relationships are much less satisfied than married women. Much of social progress was supposedly intended to benefit women and instead ended up benefiting men.
Perhaps this is one contributing factor to the paradox of declining female happiness.
Women used to report having higher well-being than men. Over the past several decades, though, this has reversed. Women’s self-reported happiness has plummeted. Today men report higher well-being than women.

Summary: Men like the current casual dating and sex scene more than women.
Women don’t want to date someone their own height if a taller man is available. I spent my entire life being ignored by women.

I am not surprised about this. While casually browsing through online dating profiles, I’ve seen all sorts of them who profess their left leaning beliefs and that they do not want to meet or date conservatives or Trump supporters (here in the Great White North, I find that odd to make mention of Trump in that manner). Women nowadays consume far more news media than men and, again, not surprising that they fill themselves with the news media created and generated world that I basically tune out. And I know that doing that plus working at my job and enjoying things like hikes or snowshoes or the annual travel to a location for museums and historic sights and such other things in life probably has me that more content with things than probably a lot of women about my age.
Being a slut doesn’t make women happier.
Being childless while sitting in a cubicle doesn’t make women happier.
It was amazing to me, raising your children and being married was slavery, but 50+ hours a week in an office is freedom.

Yep. That’s why my current group of coworkers are 100% white males, almost all Veterans, and all right wing people.
Why wouldn't they be? They get milk and cream without the costs and risks of owning a cow who might take more than half of everything they own plus their future income stream if the relationship goes south.
Thank feminism for promoting that kind of irresponsible attitude. I spent more than 38 years married to a kind, wonderful woman who rejected feminism and nurtured me and our children as I protected and provided for them. God, how I miss her!

I’m out of the workforce now, thank God. When I worked with lefties in the past, they were always a little afraid of me. I made sure of that. Sometimes it was humorous to watch them getting ready to break bad news regarding a project. I was always very subtle, never a threat, never a comment. It is surprising what can be accomplished with mere attitude and casual mention of having been in the army.
Plenty of hot chicks that aren’t tall.
