Mary Baker Eddy's religious clarity in English is beautiful:
"True prayer is not asking God for love; it is learning to love, and to include all mankind in one affection. Prayer is the utilization of the love wherewith He loves us."
"Reject hatred without hating."

I think she might be defined as a pagan, because she believed that God permeated Himself in everything, removing the distinction between God and the material world.
Agreed. She held many heretical views and her teachings did not line up with scripture.
Well, this is not Scriptural. "Hating" as a blanket concept is anti-Scriptural. The key is to hate the right things--like sin.
Yes--she was a heretic, and founded the cult of Christian Science.
Hating, without defining it, is a hallmark of the left.
Isn't that "omnipresence"?
I went to junior high with a grandson of hers. He was a genuinely nice guy.
There is a difference. God can be beside your hammer and your neighbour’s hammer, but He’s not inside the hammers. Omnipresence means being everywhere, but it does not mean being inside everything.
Paganism removes the distinction between God and the material world by moving God inside the material world. It’s a form of singularity.
I think the operative word here is pantheism if I’m not mistaken.
Some people think their understanding of scripture is more correct than others and ignore the part about “judge not”.

The Grape-Nuts religion. Just as the cereal is neither grapes or nuts; Christian Science is neither Christian or science.
God doesn’t require a vessel in order to be everywhere. I almost bought into that mindset in my youth, but it’s not Scripturally based nor is it necessary.
Logically, how can God be everywhere and not inside everything?
If He is everywhere, He is inside and outside.
That’s not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that God’s presence is in the material universe, but He is not of the material world. The hammer doesn’t have intelligence or a will of its own. If God were in that hammer, it would have intelligence and a will.
If God were in the hammer, we should worship that hammer.
Isn’t it Mary Baker Glover Patterson Eddy?
And some people take verses out of context and misapply them to keep people from exposing or correcting what they have wrong or manipulating others into backing off from challenging their wrong beliefs or behavior.
She taught that death wasn’t real and was a “mistake of the mortal mind”. But mortal means “subject to death” so how can something be subject to something that doesn’t exist? Many contradictions in the Christian Science cult.
Thank you. I was sitting here trying to figure out how to phrase my reply. You nailed it.
