Marlene Dietrich passed away on the 6th of May, 1992, after a life of glamour as a sex symbol and one long marriage.
She knew how things work between men and women.
Her words prove it:
“Darling, the legs aren’t so beautiful, I just know what to do with them.“
“Most women set out to try to change a man, and when they have changed him they do not like him.”
“To be completely woman you need a master, and in him a compass for your life. You need a man you can look up to and respect. If you dethrone him it’s no wonder that you are discontented, and discontented women are not loved for long.”
“Once a woman has forgiven her man, she must not reheat his sins for breakfast.”
She knew that men and women are meant to love each other.
She lived that reality.
One marriage that lasted 53 years.

In 1956, Burt Bacharachwas 28 y/o. A composer with connections; Pter Matz recommended Burt to Marlene Dietrich, who needed an arranger and conductor for her nightclub shows.
Marlene was very impressed with Burt’s work.
Marlene reccomended one of his songs forher friend Frank Sinatra. Frank heard the song, but didn’t like it.
Marlene was very angry at Frank, saying “ You’re a fool! This Boy is going to be famous. You will be sorry for passing his music up!”
Years later, when Burt met and married Angie Dickenson, Marlene was angry about that, since marriage took him away from availability for conducting Marlene’s shows.
Burt said he later found out Marlene had created a small Voodoo Doll resembling Angie. There were lots of pins stuck into the Doll.

Congratulations! Yours, sadly, is a rarity in this day and age. My wife and I got a later start at it but we have been together for 26 as of June 15th - the struggles are there but the love is always first.
