President Donald Trump eviscerated Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., in his ongoing battle against Disney and its Magic Kingdom in Orlando.
“Ron DeSanctimonious totally caved in his public relations inspired battle with Disney,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. “That’s the only reason he went after them in the first place, to show Mr. Tough Guy. Disney maintained complete exemption from property & sales tax, tax-free bonds, and their incredible fast track permitting.”
As reported by RSBN, Gov. DeSantis recently signed legislation in February (HB 9B) that ended Walt Disney World’s self-governing status by terminating the corporate kingdom’s special privileges in Florida.
This move came after a months-long skirmish with Disney following their public criticism of DeSantis’s falsely labeled “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which simply prohibited sexual instruction in the classroom for children up to third grade.
DeSantis’s newest legislation purportedly ended Disney’s control over the Reedy Creek Improvement District, as well as their exemptions from state regulatory reviews and approvals, via RSBN.
However, President Trump has hit back at this “public relations inspired battle with Disney,” accusing DeSantis of playing games with Floridians and Americans at large.
“They [Disney] also gave big political contributions to DeSanctus,” Trump continued. “The whole thing is a Hoax – They probably worked together to make him look like a fighter. Read Rick Foglesong, preeminent authority on Disney.”
Trump is not the only one to criticize DeSantis’s war with Disney and claim that it may be shallower than it appears. In his statement, Trump directed supporters to read Rick Foglesong, whom he called a “preeminent authority on Disney.” Foglesong recently published an opinion piece in the Orlando Sentinel that took a hammer to DeSantis’s “war” with Disney.
In it, Foglesong claimed that Disney has maintained its exemption from property and sales tax and still enjoys fast-track permitting privileges. Per RSBN, HB 9B replaced the Reedy Creek Improvement District with a state-run board that would strip Disney of its control over the special tax district.
According to Foglesong, DeSantis’s politicized war with the House of Mouse has been skin-deep. He noted that when Orange County implemented a law-enforcement tax for property owners in unincorporated parts of their county, Disney was exempted from it.
Foglesong wrote:
“Was this abuse corrected by DeSantis and the Legislature? No, a ‘new sheriff’ may have come to town in the form of a new board of supervisors, as DeSantis called it, but the powers and prerogatives of the board essentially remained the same.
And what of the $1 billion in bonded debt they inherited? Beforehand, Reedy Creek borrowed a lot because they could borrow so cheaply, claiming the district contained a city with real residents and therefore able to issue tax-free municipal bonds. Tax-free as in subsidized by the federal government aka federal taxpayers.”
Newsweek also reported in 2022 that between 2019 and 2021, Disney Worldwide Services donated over $100,000 to the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC, per the Florida State Department’s campaign finance database.
Kenny says: Trump should be able to spout any inane, deceitful trash he wants, and DeSantis supporters should thank him for pointing out that their candidate allegedly sucks.
What did Trump ever do to Disney? Facebook? Twitter? Google? YouTube? Besides roll over like a wounded kitten and bitch and moan and whine? “But he tried” Yeah, he tried... and failed... spectacularly because he made up the most incredibly stupid likes (”Cruz’s Dad killed JFK”) that no-one outside of committed Republicans took his sloppy, half-drunk-on-Ambient-seeming tweets seriously.
Face it, Trump didn’t know what the hell he was doing. And he still doesn’t. And he’s such a terrible judge of character no-one can ever teach him.
You know that ewok that started the battle of Endor? Just take on the Galactic Empire by lobbing a rock at a stormtrooper. That’s Trump.
Trump bashing just because is so old. Trump is wrong but he cannot handle someone that may be more effective than him at anything. Time for Trump to either get a clue and act rationally or for him to exit the stage. Tired of his bashing antics just to bash.
Do you really want to go down the road of “appointments”? Trump didn’t exactly pick the best. Mr. Drain The Swamp filled his administration with swamp creatures.
Trump is the one bashing. I support Trump monetarily and by volunteering twice. I was for him when he chose to run in 2024. Frankly he cannot let anyone else have a good moment that may outshine him at anything. Now on the fence.
To all who are asking WHY? Oh, Why is President Trump doing this? Desantis should recognize this. He was in the Navy after all. It’s called Shots Across the Bow.
I think you should use more random uppercasing in your posts. Random word capitalization makes your meaning more clear and credible.
Trump is a 6 time loser as leader of the party with Trump’s team running things:
2018 Midterms
2020 General Election
2020 Special Election 1
2020 Special Election 2
2022 Midterms
2022 Special Election
Enough losing
This is exactly why the left always wins. They turn elections into personality contests instead of issues. We need to be adults and look at the issues, the economy, energy, America first. Otherwise America will sink to the bottom. We don't have to marry Trump, just put him in charge to fix the country which he did once and will do again.
btw, I like DeSantis but we're in deep doo doo and don't have time for on-the-job training. Running a state is very different from running a country, from working with the world.
Turnabout is fair play, Kenny. I learned many decades ago on the school yard that bullies don’t stop until you hurt them. Desperate Donald started the name calling, and shouldn’t complain about a reply. Donald is certainly much more desperate than Ron is sanctimonious, so the name may stick on him.
Note the barrage of DeSantis sycophants posting practically in the same minute.
You believe Biden earned 81 million legit votes?
Opposing party often gets the midterm House after the general.
Trump had a decent win ratio in the 2022 midterms. Fetterman won PA by concentrated “mail-in” ballots. The egotistical Sarah Palin caused the AK rank vote to go Rat.
The 2020 GA special election was facilitated by backstabbing RINOs.
Enough misrepresentation
At some point though, the constant excuses just wear thin.
If Trump loses again in November 2024 are we just going to hear more complaining about fraud? It’s getting tiresome.
I notice it's not the fraud you find tiresome, it's the people pointing out the fraud.

......
So, it’s really a journalist digging into this and it being amplified by Trump.
I saw this quote in another article from this same Foglesong..
“Maybe down the road, [DeSantis] will be able to take another bite of the apple and take away powers and exemptions that the Disney company still has,” Foglesong said..
Why do you say that ?
If DJT prevents another stolen election , he’ll win.
I hope Sydney Powell will be around to OUT the HUGO CHAVEZ / Dominion conspiracy.
The tax exemption isn’t as big a deal as this piece suggests. They pay directly for their own public services. There is no need to tax themselves to pay for those services.
Did Trump prevent the steal in 2020? What’s he doing differently this time?
I admit I don’t know.
But RUDY and SYDNEY were onto to the truth.
So hopefully they’ll do something.
