Globalist billionaire George Soros predicted that Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will defeat former President Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination ahead of the 2024 election, and that Trump will run as a third-party candidate.
"This could induce Trump, whose narcissism has turned into a disease, to run as a third-party candidate. This would lead to a Democratic landslide and force the Republican Party to reform itself," Soros said at the 2023 Munich Security Conference, according to the Washington Examiner.
"DeSantis is shrewd, ruthless, and ambitious," Soros continued. "He is likely to be the Republican candidate." Trump, he said, "has turned into a pitiful figure continually bemoaning his loss in 2020. Big Republican donors are abandoning him in droves."
Soros, who is known for giving hundreds of millions of dollars to leftist causes, is the head of several networks and groups that promote social causes like climate change. He is also known to back soft-on-crime district attorneys.
Continuing on Trump, Soros said: "Trump is a deeply flawed character, a confidence trickster whose narcissism grew into a disease. He feels no commitment to democracy; democracy merely provides him with a stage on which to perform. As president, he was more interested in hobnobbing with dictators than in promoting democratic principles. Trump’s role model was Putin, who amassed a fortune while asserting total control over his country."
"Trump attracted a lot of non-educated white followers, but his biggest backers were the mega-rich — and he certainly delivered for them. First, he cut their taxes. Second, he nominated to the Supreme Court ideologues who embraced an extreme version of the Republican agenda. Third, he brought the Republican Party under his control by threatening those who didn’t swear loyalty to him with a challenge in the primaries," Soros said.
"Lastly, he encouraged Republican-controlled states to introduce outrageous measures of voter suppression to ensure that his party would remain in power indefinitely. With that program, he was almost reelected in 2020," he concluded.
What material? The lone testimony of a moslem terrorist who was held at Guantanamo? I read your whole link, that's all there was to it.
If Trump were running as the incumbent President that would be accurate. Trump is not the incumbent President. And Trump is not “the only reason” he’s governor - that’s nonsense.
Totally agree.
DeSantis will wage an honorable campaign if he enters. If it turns into a "double death match" as you called it, that will be due to the obscene antics of Trump and his supporters, including possibly even running as a third party candidate.
I doubt DeSantis would have won without President Trump’s endorsement.
Considering the election fraud, Trump is actually the incumbent President, but the crooked system didn’t right the wrong.
DeSantis is an ambitious, duplicitous weasel. Paul Ryan’s endorsement says it all.
Trump is the incumbent Commander in Chief, in my book.
bidEn is the usurper DSC occupant and president of the bankrupted usa.
“Only a dumb person would seriously think Soros actually like any republicans.”
You need to think that one through.
Soros operates on a two party battlefield here in the US. He has his preferences of who he wants where and could certainly “like” any Republican who helps his agenda.
Ask youself, who is paying RINOs and other turn coats like Bolton to Trash Trump and vote with the Democrats?
So what? Why pay attention to anything that destructor of America says?
Icky Haley? The nut job who wants the “former presidential candidate” box checked so she can get paid higher scale for trashing Trump.
no
“DeSanctimonious, if he runs in the Primaries, will only alienate Trump voters by his Disloyal action...”
This Trump voter (if he’s the candidate) is not influenced by who is “disloyal” to him.
Uh, no.
LOL!
What a ridiculous guilt by association, when DeSantis entire tenure in Congress was fighting against Paul Ryan as a founder of the House Freedom Caucus.
Ryan hasn't even endorsed him, either. How could he? DeSantis hasn't even declared yet, and may not. It's all been made up by Trump supporters desperate to attack DeSantis when they know his actual conservative record is impeccable.
After all, Gyorgy boy did turn his fellow Jews over to the nazis during WW2 and is unrepentant about it.
We’re trying to have a mind numbing emotional rhetoric screaming fest here and you’re bringing up logic? This is no time for common sense. If you don’t want to insult other peoples opinions and proclaim your own as the ONLY way, you’re excused.
Soros fears Trump if he didn’t think Trump could win he wouldn’t be giving his worthless lip service he knows Trump will come after him he another world problem maker.
Soros and son time is running out fast his money will be scooped up faster then crows on road kill.
I wonder who the Soros, Fink, Bankman-Fried, Zuckerberg, Bloomberg, et.al. coalition will be throwing their and their ill-gotten taxpayer dollars, behind?
I would call this endorsement another nail in DeSantis’s coffin.
Just another reason for him to stay in Florida and to keep being our good governor.
I remember, during the War on Terror, when “enhanced interrogation methods” were used on various terrorists and suspects. I was basically indifferent to it, but a good friend of mine warned me that if we accept this happening to our enemies, it will eventually be applied to Americans. I found that hard to believe.
Then January 6 happened, and in the gulag of the DC jail, my friend’s prediction became the truth. Now patriotic Americans are being tortured, albeit by local thugs rather than Feds. But those thugs could be working on behalf of the Feds.
If these allegations ARE true about DeSantis, and they get out in a general contest, numerous patriotic Americans, regarding the torture of the Americans in the DC Lubyanka, may sit the election out.
It is best, in this light, that DeSantis abandon his Presidential aspirations for now, and continue being our great governor here in Florida. JMO.
Trump is welcome to make the case for his election.
But we don’t have Princes or Kings who are somehow owed eternal personal loyalty.
