Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) praised Joe Biden Thursday for waiting until the China spy balloon had crossed the entire United States before shooting it down over water. Romney spoke to reporters after an all-senators classified briefing on the spy balloon.

"My questions were satisfactorily answered and I believe the administration, the president, our military and our intelligence agencies acted skillfully and with care. At the same time, their capabilities are extraordinarily impressive,” Romney told reporters after the briefing.
"Was everything done 100% correctly? I can't imagine that would be the case of almost anything we do. But I came away more confident,” Romney said.
Asked him if he agreed with their decision to wait to shoot down the balloon, and he said: “Yes.”
Romney was in turn praised by former Mike Pence staffer and Trump turncoat Olivia Troye, “Good on Sen. Mitt Romney for standing up for our military & intelligence capabilities. The narratives across the Republican Party regarding China & the spy balloon were disingenuous partisan potshots devoid of understanding of our overall strategic intelligence picture.”

McCain is dead and his understudy Lindsay Graham took over as being the biggest Republican suck up to the Dems and leftist media. Now Romney seems to be trying usurp Lindsay’s position. Like McCain he loves the media attention as well as the anger his behavior creates in the GOP base.

Can’t stand either Romney or Biden, but is see 3 advantages to waiting until it got over water.
1. Slightly less damage to the module itself.
2. Less chance of it falling on someone’s head!
3. They were monitoring the module’s communication all the time and acquired more information of it’s operation each day.

I was in HK when Romney was the nominee. I sat that election out. I did not vote for The Obamanation of Desolation but I refused to support Romney
