Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Russians starting to loot hospital equipment in Kherson region south of Dnipro river, just like they did in Kherson north of Dnipro right before their retreat.

M-1 Tanks Will Be A Giant Pain To Maintain

Take Forbes word for it if you trust non-military to tell you anything about military things. Use reputable military sites if you want to learn anything or ask your friendly tanker NCO.

According to some military people who operated M1s they are not all that difficult to maintain and easier than others like the Leopard MBTs.

So look here: even the Saudis - arguably the worst army in the world - maintains them, not to mention the Iraqis. The UA will have no problem.

AIR DEFENSE WIN: On 26 JAN, Russia launched 55 Air and surface launched cruise missiles at UKR cities. Approximately 40 were Kh-101s or Kh-555s. UKR air defense systems downed 47, an interception rate of better than 85%.

The U.S. has classified the Wagner Group as a transnational criminal organization.

Next up: Mexican Cartels & destroyed as was ISIS.

Free the Falcons. We want 95% or higher.

UKR air defense systems downed 47, an interception rate of better than 85%.

15% success rate is horrible. RU is doing something wrong and UKR is doing something right.

The UKR SAM coverage does not overlap. There are flight paths available that could completely avoid the SAMs.

RU must not be getting any BDA to indicate which flight paths are making it through.

UKR might be getting some highly classified intel on which targets RU plans to launch on. UKR could then locate HAWKs and NASAMs based on that intel. (PIF any insight?)

blitz128...this is why F-16s should be the first U.S. fighters sent to Ukraine. F-16s with Aim-120s would easily increase the shoot downs to 95% or higher.

One more comment - a cruise missile with a dummy warhead can still do a lot of damage, especially to a soft target like an electric substation.

Nothing directly, but with mobile SAM systems, how could there be a known flight path to avoid them? I think you might be looking at old maps of S-300 systems?

...how could there be a known flight path to avoid them?

Obviously, with mobile SAMs that is the challenge.

The first thing that I would do is draw a map of the flight paths of the missiles that made it through and see if there is a trend or possible corridors.

Then locate other targets near the flight paths that made it through and attack them on the next wave.

The next thing I would do is draw several maps of the shoot downs and see if there are trends that show flight paths that never make it through. Avoid those flight paths on future waves.

That is why I made the comment that RU must not be getting battle damage assessments (BDA). They don't seem to be making any adjustments based on success or failures.

Just my perception.

Item 2...what I am really wondering, and it is a deep dive, is UKR air defense getting recommendations on where to locate their SAMs.

Probably not, but 85% of cruise missiles being shot down, which UKR consistently claims, is a really high number.

Great for UKR.

“House GOP Leaders Consider Extending Debt Limit to Sept. 30”

I thought they wanted to cut defense in return for lifting the debt limit...

They are surrendering already?

I have seen where the Ukrainians have mapped out air defense and send drones on routes to avoid, also swarm an area then hit with second wave before they can reload
As to 16s and 120s A-10 can carry them to. It can carry a lot more loiter more and for fun chew up shit with the 30 as well as absorb a lot of damage

Yes dummy using kinetic energy can do great damage we started basically using concrete practice bombs to limit collateral damage Al swahra (sp?) I believe was finally killed by that method. His body was basically intact but his inards were jelly from concussion

All around the Russians seem to be inept, using cruise missiles designed for nukes with conventional warheads but with an accuracy of 600 meters. As the saying goes close only counts in horseshoes hand grenades and nukes . So 600 meters is fine with a nuclear missile going after an aircraft carrier…. But a waste if going for say a power plant

Makes me wonder what they have left

Better classify some of that as there are many Russian trolls here, some of whom no doubt report back to St Petersburg and FSB/GRU as applicable

I believe that the A-10 carries Aim-9L/M Sidewinders, not Aim-120s, which would require a radar. I'm pretty sure that the GAU-8 occupies too much space in the nose to add a radar. Below is a picture of the A-10 inboard profile.

Without a radar, A-10s would need GCI control to run an intercept. Intercepts on a cruise missile at night with no radar is just about impossible.

Without a radar, the A-10 is required to point directly at the target (cruise missile) to get a valid heat tone for the Aim-9L/M. This could be very dangerous on a moonless night.

WRT Russia using 600 meter CEP cruise missiles with conventional warheads is a sure sign of desperation.

They have been recently been re-winged & extensively modified - I don’t know what the modifications are.

Be the first to hear - was over on Denys show and he said France is considering sending Gen4 Dassault Rafales - comes from a report in the Guardian.

Morocco is sending 174 T72EA Tanks, 70 are already in theater.

Over the next couple of days/weeks, blitz128 and I are going to discuss various aspects of CAS. If anyone else is interested and would like to be pinged, just let us know.

BeauBo, you will always be included, especially if one of our fav Prime Ministers needs her picture posted.

I know very little about the Dassault Rafale.

It is a munti-role fighter like the F-16.

I will enjoy doing some research and reporting back.

The picture above shows the 2-seat "trainer" version.

What's strange is there were more 2 seat versions manufactured than the single seat version.
