Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Poland may donate Abrams to Ukraine before the US does.

Which would leave Poland bereft of tanks, plus there is no way Poland can send all the spares needed. They don’t even have any yet, in any case, and when the first delivery will be, who knows? At least many months away.

Highly unlikely donation, but possible. There would have to be some sort of contractual re-negations to pull off any donations of Abrams, adding more time to delivery.

“New U.S. Base on Guam Is Aimed at Deterring China”

“Camp Blaz is expected eventually to house 5,00

“The U.S. Marine Corps marked the opening of a new base on America’s westernmost Pacific island, as the Pentagon redirects its forces to counter China, which Washington has identified as a growing threat to U.S. security.

The first new Marine base since 1952, it is still under construction. It will eventually house 5,000 Marines tasked in the short term with deterring and detecting threats in the region.

Longer-term, the Guam base, about equidistant from Japan and Taiwan, is also slated to be a hub for Marines on Guam and across the Northern Mariana Islands to train for protecting Pacific islands, including vital sea lanes, in the event of an invasion.”

“all just bait”

The Abrams announcement served its purpose.

Cover for Germany to send the Leopard.

That is what DOD wanted. Leopards in Ukraine. Readily available, short logistics.

May God Bless Poland.

I’m sure the parts list was extensive and shipment was very efficient. Hopefully they sent enough parts for 24 aircraft.

Rumsfeld’s New Europe.

“Ukraine War Accelerates Shift of Power in Europe to the East”

“The war has raised the influence of Central and Eastern European countries with negative views of Russia, amplified calls to expand the E.U. and NATO, and dimmed the power of France and Germany.”

“In August, in Prague, the chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, said it bluntly: “The center of Europe is moving eastward.”

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been a shock to the complacent European order, both to the European Union and to NATO. And it has underscored and enhanced the influence of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Poland and the Baltic states have driven the moral argument to support Ukraine, filling a near-vacuum early in the war, when Europe’s traditional leaders, France and Germany, appeared paralyzed. But the war has also brought new urgency and energy for the enlargement of the European Union to the Western Balkans and beyond, with offers of candidacy for Ukraine and Moldova.

Vocal pressure from Eastern and Central Europe was crucial to the decisions this week, after months of wrangling and resistance, to give Western tanks to Ukraine. On Wednesday, Mr. Scholz announced that his country would supply some of its Leopard 2 tanks and allow other countries to send theirs, and President Biden said he would send American Abrams tanks, which gave Mr. Scholz the political cover he wanted.”

When Ukraine joins NATO / EU, power will shift even more eastward. Poland and Ukraine will be the backbone of NATO’s European military power.

“Central and Eastern European countries, Ms. Puglierin said, see themselves as “the freedom fighters in the E.U. and defending its values, standing up to dictatorship.” They feel vindicated in their longstanding warnings about Russia’s neo-imperialism, its president, Vladimir V. Putin, and Europe’s dependence on Russian energy — in contrast to what they see as Western Europe’s naïveté about diplomacy and trade with Russia.”

I hate to inform the ru trolls that about 98% of the buildings in Ukraine have electricity at least 12 hours per day...95% have electricity 24 hours per day.

Of course, one of the buildings that doesn't have electricity is pictured below:

France: ‘Weakened within Europe’

“The war has also made Mr. Macron’s aspiration for an “autonomous” European defense seem hollow, given the sharply enhanced role of NATO and the United States in the past year.”

““The eastern countries are not big fans of E.U. defense — they want the United States and NATO,” Ms. Puglierin said. Germany, too, wants to enhance the trans-Atlantic relationship and depends on Washington, even as it tries to rebuild its own paltry military. “So France will lose some allies and be outnumbered,” she said.

Weakened within Europe, at least for now, France will also be less influential in a more active and aggressive NATO. The alliance is more reliant on American arms and leadership than it was before the war, not less so, and it is expected to expand soon with the new membership of Sweden and Finland.”

I’ve said and still believe:

RuZZia is wasting missiles and drones that could have been used against military targets.

But hitting civilian infrastructure and killing people in apartment buildings brings joy to the RuZZian nationalists. They’ve had little to cheer about since last March. Apartment buildings is all they have.

It will be a big photo op, but the ‘major’ military aid package will be good. GLSDB anyone?

“NBC reports that several locations are under consideration, including Poland, for Biden to visit in Europe around the one year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine & administration officials have discussed announcing another major military aid package around the same time”

“Russian prosecutors labeled the independent news site Meduza “undesirable,” effectively criminalizing the outlet in the country.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said Thursday Meduza, which had already been named a foreign agent in 2021 and whose site was blocked in Russia, poses a threat to the constitutional order and security of the country. While dozens of journalists and media organizations have been previously labeled as foreign agents, Meduza is the fourth outlet to be outlawed with the “undesirable” label in Russia.

Looks like 4 is the number.

“Canada’s Defence Minister will announce the sending of four Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine today, sources tell CTV News.

Government sources also say that Canada is considering sending more tanks at a later date.”
