The European Union has launched an investigation into the increase, which comes after the European Medicines Agency approved the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for children in May 2021.

It isn’t a 630% increase in deaths, it is an increase in excess deaths.

Suppose you expect 1000 deaths per year, plus or minus 30 as the normal variation.

Then one year you have 1210 deaths. That is 180 more than the normal variation, 6 times the normal variation, 600 percent increase in excess deaths.

But it is only 21% over baseline, not 600% over baseline. (That would be 7000 deaths.)

Still a very substantial increase but nowhere near as bad as 600% over baseline.
