If that’s what you think, you would be wrong. I’ve gone to school with blacks my whole life, worked with them, and lived with them (20 years in the Navy). My cousin was killed by one. My sister had a gun stuck in her face by one. Both robbery attempts. I’ve avoided the above by pulling a gun on 3 of them to avoid being a victim. I know what I’m talking about.

When I was in 2nd Grade (late 60’s) My Parents went to Australia/New Zealand for an extended vacation, I was taken from a public scrool in the Big City NJ and sent to live with My sister in rural Virginia for one Semester where she was a Teacher for 4th Grade.
The school was one building that covered K-12 Grades and the classrooms were around the perimeter as were the offices/janitorial & repair/storage and Restrooms, the center was the Stage and Auditorium. Total in attendance Staff and Students might have been 600. There was never any fights of any kind. We ate our lunches in the classrooms, Recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayers every morning We would gather in the Auditorium for a Play or Band practice every few weeks.
Oh yeah did I mention that the only white people in the building were myself and sister.

Then, I can understand your point of view. Especially sad for your cousin and sister. I’m sorry to hear that.
My viewpoint is based on my experiences. Among my family members, one was stabbed; one was jumped, beaten, and robbed; and a business was robbed by black criminals. We lived in a mixed and majority-black part of town. As I said, I very easily could’ve turned out racist. But, the other half of town was majority-white, and white criminals were doing the same things, including jumping, robbing, and killing people. People from other towns were afraid to drive through ours. But, most of us, of all stripes, who lived there were good people.
Did this horrible attack occur in a vacuum?
The article reads the incident took place in “the halls of the school.”
And no one was there to stop this lunatic from attacking that student.
