Look, I don’t know what Donald Trump is trying to accomplish with his “Trump Digital Trading Cards,” but I do know P.T. Barnum ain’t got nothin’ on The Donald. I mean we’re talking MyPillow dude Mike Lindell-quality stuff, here.
Here’s something else I know: Whatever Trump was thinking was wrong. Way wrong.
As my colleague Bonchie reported earlier, Trump on Wednesday teased a coming “major announcement” on Thursday morning. His major announcement, he said, would come because “America needs a superhero.” On Thursday, that announcement came: Trump Digital Trading Cards. No, really.
Ah, but hold on here a minute, some of you ask, while others laugh. Given Trump’s “genius,” he’s always (fill in a number) of steps ahead of everyone else. So, of course, the trading card thingy is something brilliant that mere mortals are incapable of grasping. One avid Trump supporter on my Facebook page called Trump’s “major announcement a “feint” — leading up to comment about his 2024 platform.
Other loyalists, perhaps like the rest of us with no explanation, assumed Trump’s trading card shtick was only a “joke” — given that Trump can never be wrong. Three words: not a joke. Check out his announcement video at CollectTrumpCards.com and see for yourself.
In an infomercial rivaling Mike Lindell’s “best” MyPillow product ads, Trump boasts:
Hello everybody, this is Donald Trump. Hopefully your favorite president of all. Better than Lincoln, better than Washington, with an important announcement to make. I’m doing my first official Donald J. Trump NFT Collection right here and right now. They’re called “Trump Digital Trading Cards,” These cards feature some of the really incredible artwork pertaining to my life and my career, and it’s been very exciting.
Notice how Trump must be “better than” Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. It’s honestly kind of sad, in a way. That amount of insecurity, I mean. And how does a serious person even respond to this? No, it wasn’t a “feint.” No, it wasn’t a “joke.” The question is, what the hell was it?
Trump continued to boast about himself and hype the ever-loving crap out of his digital trading card series, but before we go any further, a quick word about NTFs — non-fungible tokens.
I won’t get deep into the weeds about NTFs, but they’re even more precarious than cryptocurrencies. Comprised of digital identifiers that can’t be copied, substituted, or subdivided and recorded in a blockchain, they are worth ONLY what those who are brave silly enough to buy them think they’re worth. You don’t have to be a former 30-year registered investment advisor — which I am — but anyone with a modicum of knowledge about how the crypto nightmare turned out for buyers who “invested” serious money in the pretend assets knows what I’m talking about.
Anyway, again, why?
Does Trump know he’s going to lose but wants to go out with a bang? Is the whole thing a thinly veiled fundraising scheme? Does Trump even really want to be president, again? Or is he incapable of seeing how ridiculous this thing is, and honestly believes everything he says in the video I linked to, above? Again, I don’t know.
But here’s something I strongly believe: Trump is counting on his legions of loyalists to plop down a hundred bucks a pop on this worthless nonsense, and I’m gonna go ahead and bet he won’t be wrong.
Sorry, Trump loyalists, but this is as pathetic as it is hilarious.
So “jumped the shark” has jumped the shark?
Had to happen.
Good find. Thank you.
Wow. Thank you.
Yesterday Biden hosted tranny and drag-queens in the white house.
Trump’s trading cards seem silly, but not dangerous.
If only Washington DC were swallowed by a giant sinkhole
we were punked this was not the announcement...
I throw Trump trading cards as NFTs in the same category as Trump University, Trump Steaks and Trump Airlines all seemed like great ideas to someone at one time but failed miserably and in retrospect were extremely stupid
Yes. This is brilliant 3456789-D chess! The same 3456789-D chess that allowed him to defeat ALL his opponents and get the last laugh time and time again! The same 3456789-D chess that allowed him to DEFEAT Joe...sorry...SLEEPY Joe Biden in 2020...wait. He LOST. And by extension, WE lost. We lost our country. and in a week, it will be gone forever. We will become a permanent third world nation over night. He couldn’t build the wall he promised (MORE 3456789-D chess, I assume?) and the 70-something kid touching scumbag with dementia who kicked his ass in the first debate has effectively undone every single accomplishment Mr. 3456789-D chess ever did. Meanwhile the Jan. 6th supporters he didn’t pardon are still rotting in prison.
NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are unique cryptographic tokens that exist on a blockchain and cannot be replicated. NFTs can represent real-world items like artwork. They are currently going up in smoke, like cyrpto
Not exactly President Trumps brightest move when lots of us are experincing financial trouble
>> I think Trump is mocking the whole crypto world consider the timing-—during FTX <<
This isn’t vintage Norm McDonald (rest his soul). This is a man running to become President of the United States of America for the second time. The notion that he would do something so astonishingly stupid that his DEFENDERS would guess he was doing it to mock something... HOLY &*^%&@*!!!
Did you know that Doonesbury, the most famous editorial cartoon in history, JUST MADE FUND of Donald Trump for doing something nearly as ridiculous as this. Yeah, their satire didn’t come NEAR the absurdity of this.
Don’t know why he released this crypto thing on the same day as the free speech announcement. Everyone is talking about the crypto and not free speech!
#5 agree!
Nice try. But the tease was that America needs a new superhero, and then the reveal was trading cards with Trump presented as a superhero.
So once again, Trump leaves it up to his supporters to invent excuses for his behavior. So the two theories are “His behavior was so incredibly stupid because he’s making fun of people who behaved stupidly!” and “It wasn’t him! It was someone making fun of him!” But suppose either of them is true; isn’t it a sign of shocking incompetence that we don’t know which?
The notion that someone was making fun of him works better. Look at the bottom: “NFT INT LLC is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Digital LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates. NFT INT LLC uses Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness and image under paid license from CIC Digital LLC, which license may be terminated or revoked according to its terms.” How is his team not all over that?

nFt’s are just another part of thr Crypto scam.
Basically if you have thE NFT for a digital asset (image) etc you have the “original”
Thr thought I’d this provides some intrinsic value because you have the absolute abs verifiable original, sort of like owning an original Monet vs a print off or a copy.
Problem is that, unlike a physical work of art, there is absolutely no difference between the original abs a copy. A digital copy is exactly the same as the original.. no differences what so ever and it’s not a physical item either
So basically it’s another bigger fool scheme… there may be some inherent value to the “original” of a digital piece of art, but its nominal… not the 100s of thousands or even millions some people have paid for these things
“I was expecting/hoping for something to help us out of this nightmare...”
That made me laugh because that was exactly my sentiment.
Part of the nightmare now is that evidently the average American has no idea what is about to hit them, even when they see the limitless hordes invading the border at the democrat’s invitation. Solution: Vote in more democrats.
He won. Try and remember that at all time. Maybe the MSM is finally wearing you down. After all thats their goal. Keep beating up the weak minded and pray for acquiescence.
I suspect the dude that had the chance to purchase a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card for $50 but scoffed at the offer is probably kicking himself right now.......LOL!

Haha! They sold out!
Knowing Trump, it could be as simple as him helping someone out financially. Could this be Baron Trump's first business project? Some meme maker that's been supportive of Trump since 2015 so Trump wants to give back? He does tend to help people and not announce that he's helping them.
