Syracuse students not interested or engaged in mandatory diversity course: report

Syracuse University students are not interested in a mandatory diversity course, with some criticizing it as too focused on finger pointing and singling out individuals.

“While Syracuse University structures its First-Year Seminar 101 course around students sharing their experiences with their cultures and identities, students taking the course said nobody wants to speak,” The Daily Orange reported. “In some classes, students said they don’t know each other’s names.”

I know few people who enjoy taking mandatory training and like that has zero relevancy to current position or hoped for future. It has been well documented these types of seminars are mine fields. Just one bad step, and you have no future. It makes 100% sense for a student to minimal engage just hoping to get out unecathed.

My most annoying experience was when I enrolled as a Freshman the university automatically enrolled me in some seminar. It was some seminar about Leftist activist movies, for example, celebrating that pedophile Harvey Milk as a hero. It ended up that course was not mandatory. I wasted countless hours for nothing. A coed did flirt with me, my only chance in turned out in 4 years, but I blew that.

So true. If I recall correctly, I had to take a mandatory seminar in how to use the library when I was a freshman. I already knew my way around the library and it was nearly a total waste of time. I did learn that Library Science was a shame major and that librarians are nearly all over-credentialed leftists that are full of themselves. That was over 40 years ago. I’d be blowing a gasket if I had to take a mandatory diversity course.

I remember when I had to take that (last century) for my undergrad. They called it “Senior Seminar” then but we all called it “Senior Therapy” which was a apt description. We broke up into small groups and talked a lot; I remember talking about sex and other such VERY interesting subjects with the girls in my “group”. One thing I have to say for that course is that it helped dispel a lot of misconceptions that I had formed in high school about girls not liking sex. I had a lot of fun in that course, but it had NOTHING to do with the subject matter!

This reminds me of Hubby’s work where they have a film about Sexual Harrasssment every year. It is the same film! Every year! Hubby has been at that job for 20 plus years and has seen this film multiple times and could probably recite the entire film.

Mandatory Diversity Training - being told you need to learn what the Left deems appropriate about other cultures, including how to insult them by calling them terms like Latinx instead of Latino or Latina because the Left says so.

The Navy has the same training every year that takes about 4 hours.

Every year I’d see the same traitors being caught for selling classified information, I’d see the same sailor hitting on some young female seaman, I’d see the same sailor seeing human trafficking, etc.

In the last few years the tranny training started showing up.

NO university or college should have mandatory “diversity” courses!!!! And NO university or college should make “diversity” a criterion in admissions!!!!
