Desperate Democrat candidates in Illinois (and I presume nationwide) have resorted to some particularly disturbing moves in recent years, and especially in the closing weeks of the campaign, in hopes of convincing their base to stick with them and some remote, gullible fraction of the middle to choose them as well.
We can no longer look merely at clear issues – where a candidate is pro-tax or anti-tax, pro-Soviet or anti-Soviet, pro-abortion or anti-abortion. No, today’s Democrat candidates - well aware that their traditional base is running for the exits - twist the language in an effort to hide their own positions, or to make their Republican opponents look extreme, in order to avoid admitting their own extremism. For example:
We see Democrat television commercials attacking their Republican opponents as being “against women’s healthcare,” or simply as favoring “taking away your healthcare.”
The casual reader will assume that means the Republican wants to ban health insurance or close down hospitals… but in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. The Democrat is attacking the Republican for being pro-life. These Democrats, in the writing of their campaign commercials and mailers, are redefining healthcare as meaning “abortion on demand.” Is that what you mean by the term? Well, it’s what they mean, nowadays.
We see today’s Democrats declare that they are helping working families “fight the challenges of inflation,” by passing out $100 or $200 or even $500 state stimulus checks. But with gasoline, beef, and eggs more than doubled, and with both new and used cars going up by thirty to fifty percent, the average family’s expenses have gone up by several thousand dollars per year, in most cases, more than $5000, due to groceries and transportation costs alone. These meager handouts don’t cover a month of this ongoing hit, let alone a year while adding to state and federal deficits and thereby continually making inflation even worse.
The Biden-Harris regime famously tweeted, a week before the election, that they were proudly raising Social Security payments to take care of our senior citizens. They were forced to delete the tweet when the Twitterverse reminded them that the published inflation rate is higher than the announced Social Security cost of living increase… and since the Democrat regime is the reason for this inflation, they are especially deceitful in claiming to be helping at all. In fact, not only is the published inflation rate higher than the COLA, but the real inflation rate for most people in most situations is at least double the published rate anyway, making it all that much worse.
In states like Illinois, with painfully high property taxes, Democrat candidates promise to “watch your property taxes,” while supporting the programs and party leadership that causes these property taxes to skyrocket. To them, “watching your property taxes” isn’t so much a declaration of concern as perhaps a plan for their future entertainment; they’ll watch your property taxes go up, munching on popcorn instead of trying to stop it.
“Extremist” is another of the modern Democrat speechwriter’s favorite words to redefine. Today’s Democrats – whether they admit it or not – are united in supporting taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand at any time up to the moment of birth (and if the child is born alive despite an abortion attempt, then legalizing immediately killing the child for having the audacity to try to survive). Nothing could be more extreme than that. So, they call their Republican opponents – even moderates who favor some limits – the “abortion extremists,” redefining the Republicans as “extreme” just for opposing the Democrats’ extreme pro-abortion designs.
Even the definition of “cheap” is abused today. In a recent speech, Joe Biden declared that solar and wind power are better than oil, gas, and coal because wind and solar are cheaper. But by what measure? We presume they justify the lie by the fact that you have to buy oil, gas, and coal from the landowner, while sunlight and breezes are free… but the total cost of ownership (TCO), when counting the cost of processing and delivery of energy for use, is infinitely greater with wind and solar.
By any objective measure, the incredible cost of solar panels and windmills, transformation and storage, batteries, and transportation, make wind and solar the least efficient, and therefore the most expensive, of all popular forms of energy production. But Joe Biden and his acolytes say they’re the “cheap” ones. Even “cheap” has a new meaning in the new world of Democrat-speak.
This problem is another of the ever-growing list of reasons to end the dangerous practice of early voting and mail-in ballots. Even putting the issue of vote fraud facilitation aside, there is always a problem with some part of the electorate casting their ballots before the campaign is over.
Some of these “misstatements” – these redefinitions, these euphemisms, these deceptions, these outright lies – are evident on their face, if one is paying attention.
But when the Democrats twist the very data or use these redefinitions to mask or misdirect data, it often takes time for the opposition to respond and correct the record. Most people, especially those on the fence, need every last day until the election to gather the real data, the true, unvarnished data, that they need to make an educated decision.
Election Day is November 8, 2022. We have a country to save.

They have nothing to run on, so they vomit up this junk. This has to be one of the worst years for campaign ads. I live in Indiana, but am in the Chicago media market. At the end of the day, I like to wind down a bit with some TV and was subject to such a constant barrage of this last night that I wound up switching to a channel with no local advertising. Unfortunately, this stuff works for the lockstep Democrat voter who lacks any kind of discernment (I know a few) and that explains why a place such as Illinois is the way it is.
