This is from when he ran for the Senate in 2016 and lost the primary, but it is making the rounds on the interweb again.

It’s all call-back to Pittsburgh Steeler hero Mean Joe Greene, so Fetterman may get 81 million votes out of that city alone. Everyone expects most of the fraud to come from Philly, but maybe Fetterman is working his magic in that other town.
Fester is no Mean Joe Green, and I don’t know Green.
OMG. He’s insane
First, if his campaign released that, the Coca-Cola people may take exception to their recorded jingle being used in a political ad.
Second, Fetterman has about 1/100th of the charisma of the real Joe Greene in the ad.
Third, yes Boomers will remember the Mean Joe Greene commercials, but someone who isn’t predisposed towards Fetterman already may see it more as a mockery, not a tribute. They know Mean Joe Greene, and Fetterman ain’t Mean Joe Greene.
Finally, that “Where’s your suit, where’s your flag pin?” schtick is pretty transparent and detracts from the attempted parallel of the original ad. It is kind of like Lamar Alexander’s lumberjack shirt, or Scott Brown’s pickup truck. Unconvincing Schtick.
I think this ad does him more harm than good. I suppose there are some older Steelers fans who remember the original commercial, and may get a chuckle out of the ad. However, most voters under 50 will not get the refence to the classic Mean Joe Greene commercial. Also, there has been a lot of attention focused on the question of Fetterman’s fitness to serve in the senate. A campaign ad showing him hobbling around, apparently in pain, just reinforces those concerns.
What they didn’t show was the first take where he threw the empty bottle at the kid’s head.
Yup. a repeat of the Mean Joe Greene Coca-Cola ad showing a tired MJG as a nice guy. What this has to do with his ability to serve in the Senate.
must be a local variant of the same term.
He should play the scarecrow in the wizard of Oz.
I thought it was the new one of Fetterman at a pickup bar, in a sequined thong and using a stripper pole to twerk.
My mistake.
Jag off is a midwest term. And Fetterman is an epic jag off.
Jag off is essentially Pittsburghese for a-hole.
I’m old enough to remember the Mean Joe Greene ad. I never liked the MJG commercial, but that was just personal taste. “Cringe” is the appropriate word for this.
It’s Pennsylvania. The kid probably DID vote for him. The question is how many times.
I wonder how many takes that took.
Shouldn’t Fetterman be pointing a 20 gauge at that little kid in the commercial?
Sloth is too nice to be John Fetterman. Fetterman is a thug and a bad guy.
