Key Takeaways:
1) The Kremlin intensified its information operation to accuse Ukraine of preparing to conduct a false-flag attack using a dirty bomb for a second day in a row.
2) Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Chief Major General Kyrylo Budanov stated on October 24 that the impact of Russian terrorist strikes against critical Ukrainian infrastructure is waning.
3) Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annexation of four Ukrainian oblasts on September 30 ignited a schism within the Kremlin, which will likely intensify as Ukraine liberates more territories according to Budanov.
4) Prigozhin continues to accrue power and is setting up a military structure parallel to the Russian Armed Forces, which may come to pose a threat to Putin’s rule – at least within the information space.
5) Russian forces are likely preparing to defend Kherson City and are not fully withdrawing from upper Kherson Oblast despite previous confirmed reports of some Russian elements withdrawing from upper Kherson Oblast.
6) The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that Ukrainian forces captured Karmazynivka, Miasozharivka, and Nevske in Luhansk Oblast and Novosadove in Donetsk Oblast.
7) Kursk Oblast Govenor Roman Starovoit announced the completion of the construction of two reinforced defense lines on the border with Ukraine on October 23 — likely an act of security theater designed to target a domestic Russian audience since there is no danger whatsoever of a Ukrainian mechanized invasion of Russia.
8) Wagner Group financer Yevgeny Prigozhin acknowledged the slow pace of Wagner Group ground operations around Bakhmut as Russian forces continued to lose ground near the city.
9) Ukrainian forces continued targeting Russian force concentrations near the Zaporizhia Oblast front line on October 23–24 and struck a Russian force and equipment concentration in the vicinity of Enerhodar on October 22.

Its like if the Brady Bunch were instead a group of grifting DC neo-marxist warmongers
Latest from DPA. Seems to be some back, and forth over the last 2 weeks. Ukraine Offensive continues.

“The Kremlin intensified its information operation to accuse Ukraine of preparing to conduct a false-flag attack using a dirty bomb for a second day in a row.”
Russia claims it has the evidence, so it should immediately release that to the public, or at the very least before the proper UN authority, and let it be disseminated from there. It would be a major coup for Russia and would harm Ukraine’s standing and credibility. If Russia DOES NOT release that evidence, then it is logical to conclude that Russia made it all up, and if there is such a dirty bomb detonation it would be Russia’s doing.

Don’t see why Ukraine would likely use a “dirty bomb” when things are going their way, it seems.
Russia on the other hand....
“Russia claims it has the evidence, so it should immediately release that to the public....”
Furthermore, we demand an explanation from Russia, forthwith and posthaste, on why they blew up their own pipelines.
LoL!
You people have no respect for yourselves. None.
“CIA/MI6 fronts like Oryx, Bellingcat, and the war-mongering Kagan family propaganda mill The Institute for the Study of War....”

Knew it was just a matter of time, propaganda peddler of ORYX and now the Institute for the Study of War.
lulz.
“Furthermore, we demand an explanation from Russia, forthwith and posthaste, on why they blew up their own pipelines. LoL! You people have no respect for yourselves. None.”
Nice try, Sparky. I never claimed Russia blew up Nordstream. If you’ve paid even the least bit of attention to the threads dealing with Nordstream, you’d see I’ve said I don’t know who blew them up.
But, not surprisingly, you completely ignore my comment re: Russia’s claim to having evidence of a Ukrainian dirty bomb — which, by the way, if true would inure to Russia’s benefit — and immediately go on the defensive. Why is that? Is it possibly because you think Russia’s claim is BS and you don’t want to admit it, because it would make your side (Russia) look bad?
I’ve got chickens with more sense than you. Of course they’re bringing it to the UN Security Council. doh
Russia takes its case, rejected by West, to UN that Ukraine plans ‘dirty bomb’
I’m not going to be surprised if this winds up as another ridiculous fiasco, like Sweden “investigating” the pipeline destruction, and then claiming their findings are “secret” due to “national security”, but you will.
“I’ve got chickens with more sense than you. Of course they’re bringing it to the UN Security Council. doh”
They just brought up the issue to the UN today. But WITHOUT PRESENTING ANY EVIDENCE! Even in closed session!
If Russia has the evidence, it should present it publicly! Show the whole world what Ukraine is allegedly planning! It would be a major coup in favor of Russia and would be incredibly damaging to Ukraine! What an opportunity for Russia!
But, it isn’t doing that. Why?
Nice try, Chunga. Better luck next time.
tim burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Key Takeaway - ISW is pure propaganda
I’m sure you’re anxious to turn the page on both the mysterious destruction of the pipelines *and* the accusations of the “dirty bomb”.
I’ll agree with you on one thing. If they have it they should show it. (Not that people like you won’t dismiss it)
Keep in mind, this is the same UN Security Counsel that apparently has forgotten all about Minsk II, as well as the comments they all made about it. Here they are.
Unanimously Adopting Resolution 2202 (2015), Security Council Calls on Parties to Implement Accords Aimed at Peaceful Settlement in Eastern Ukraine

“Expressing the Security Council’s grave concern at the tragic events and violence in eastern regions of Ukraine, the 15-member body today unanimously adopted a resolution endorsing last week’s ceasefire agreement.”
ISW currently operates as a nonprofit organization, supported in part by contributions from defense contractors including General Dynamics, DynCorp, and previously, Raytheon.
“I’m sure you’re anxious to turn the page on both the mysterious destruction of the pipelines *and* the accusations of the ‘dirty bomb’.”
Don’t project onto me your discomfort with those topics.
Unlike you, I want the TRUTH of both. And I don’t much care where the TRUTH ends up.
“I’ll agree with you on one thing. If they have it they should show it. (Not that people like you won’t dismiss it)”
Good. As to the parenthetical: Rushing to judgment, are you? You must feel right at home in the Court of Travis McGee. Me? I want the facts. I want the truth. I won’t condemn based on hearsay, innuendo, and wishful thinking.
“Keep in mind, this is the same UN Security Counsel that apparently has forgotten all about Minsk II, as well as the comments they all made about it. Here they are.”
Well, that would be UN Security COUNCIL, not COUNSEL.
In any event, let’s go back to the beginning of the matter, from which all else stems: The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances of 1994 in which Russia, the US, and the UK agreed to guarantee to Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan the following:
1. Respect the signatory’s independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against the signatory.
3. Refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by the signatory of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind.
4. Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they “should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used”.
5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against the signatory.
6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.
Russia violated #1 and #2 in 2014 with the seizure and occupation of Crimea and the introduction of Russian troops into eastern Ukraine. Russia has been in violation of #3 since 2014. No nukes have been used thus far so #4 and #5 are not at issue. Russia has been in violation of #6 since 2014.
This was BEFORE the Minsk Agreements of late 2014 and early 2015. And even the drafter of the Minsk Agreements concluded they were unworkable, and open to various interpretations, and they fell apart.
But, the initial aggressor, the initial catalyst for all the turmoil is clearly Russia.
