God blessed Loretta Lynn.
Met here under a motel awning in a Pasadena Texas one rainy evening. I was waiting on a cab to take me to dinner and she walked up and stood right beside me. I’m not one to “bother” celebs so I just kept looking for my cab. Then this little voice said, “hey, ain’t ya gonna say hello?” She knew I was trying not to bother her. I said “hello” and we had a little conversation. Her limo pulled up and I said “well here’s my ride” and she said, “don’t think so, yours is behind this one!” She was performing at Gilly’s at the time. What a thrill to actually meet the little lady.
I remember that being a pretty decent movie that came out about 40 or so years ago. I think Spacek got best actress or some such award out of that film.
Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette lived each other’s songs.
Loretta made a career out of jilted woman “Leaving You” songs yet stayed married to a life-long filanderer until his passing after 48 years of wedded bliss.
Tammy’s biggest hit was “Stand By Your Man” but she had five husbands, two of whom she divorced and two of whom she got annulments from.
Prayers to your family Loretta and thank you for your tunes.
What a treasure the Coal Miner’s Dotter has been to America and the world.
Condolences to her family and friends.
I never knew what the big deal was about being a coal miner’s daughter.
“but did not disclose a cause of death.”
The writer is making a joke, right?
Good woman. I knew her son and DIL years ago.
RIP.
THE Queen of Country Music.
RIP.
She did an album with Conway Twitty. I love their version of “It’s Only Make Believe” and I play it on the jukebox at the local bar.
We’ve lost another treasure.
Condolences to Loretta’s loved ones.
May the perpetual Light shine upon Loretta.
May she rest in peace. Amen.
Always beautiful. No duck lips, ever. See post 44:

Who’s going to fill her shoes?
Very sad to see her go...
Great lady... Great performer...
If you have never watched “Coal Miner’s Daughter” with Sissy Spacek, you should find it and watch it as soon as possible. She does an excellent job in the role of Loretta Lynn.
