Perhaps $30 an hour. The Japanese are well on the road to robotizing these kind of operations. I live in a very red right to work state. Robotizing would work fine here and the robots would be smarter than many of the service wotkers.

The future enemy is China. Without a draft a lot of US women will be in it. When I retired in 2006 the Army was 15% female. Most of these young women see the Army as a jobs program with day care. Almost every young female I saw had a kid or two and no husband and never had one. Over half of the kids were mixed race. I told people back then to absolutely not let their daughters join the military if they didn’t want them to become a species of welfare mother with a half black kid. Nothing has changed, only gotten worse. Once a big war starts a lot of women are going to find out what ‘cross leveling’ means and find their pretty little bodies in combat arms unit as battlefield replacements. The Chinese have only gotten smarter since the Korean War and closely observe every aspect of our society and government. The Chicoms were fairly sophisticated in their POW operations in that war and a lot US prisoners cooperated in some fashion than was disclosed. In the next war the Chinese will find the masses of US female soldiers they capture to be very easy to manipulate. No brutality, just endless propaganda , much from very sympathetic appearing Chinese female soldiers. Captured female soldiers will be easily manipulated to make TV appearances weeping over missing their children, who of course have no daddy. The number of skirt turners will be high and it will be a real humiliation, at the least, to the US. The AF and USN have been hell bent on getting women in the cockpit of combat aircraft. See how they enjoy well paid, pampered US pilots turning skirt and screeching the Chicom party line.
Same story as you - pothead slacker to patriot same year and age- but I was motivated by a Vietnam veteran jerking me up at a grocery store over an Army jacket I had on that still had the campaign patches on (I was oblivious about). He made me think hard, recount my blessings and enlist after doing poorly in college anyway. And it was THE glorious era helping Reagan win the Cold War while my fellow soldiers were primarily straight, Christian and patriotic.
I agree. That is a major change that will deter many young people.
The many enemies are here now. They have taken over almost every aspect of our government, local, state, and federal, and they aren’t all Chinese. They’re foreigners, and also traitors within who have sold us off piece by piece.
I wonder if there is a conspiracy to make sure our youth are unfit for military service.
