"Sort of reminds me of the 70s under Carter."

Yep....been there at the time. It took Regan almost 8 years to rebuild. It is a long process and throwing money at the recruits won't fix anything. We need patriots to join. Those that love the country and the word "Service" means something.

These woke pedos are not getting my sons even if they do bring back the draft. I want them to have no part of the Marxist perversion that is now the US military. They are not bleeding and dying for the lie that We The People run the country. Let the establishment and deep state traitors offer up their children for their endless wars and corruption.

Thank you for clarifying your experience with the navy standards for higher tech jobs. That metric applies to all branches but, I was only talking about the minimum standard for enlistment not the opportunities.

You know you did well on the ASVAB when your recruiter cries when he sees the scores. I had students score in the 65-90 range and the recruiters called me asking me how I did that. They are used to seeing scores in the 50's tops.

He does that all virtually and is fine with it, then he gets up and takes a personal tour of Europe. These kids are known to work 6-9 months, live on nothing, then use the money to travel.

Maybe they should start offering a free sniff of cocaine with every enlistment...

I think any straight White male would be insane to join this woke military.

Zdrasvuitye brother. I was training in Russian at the same place in 83-84. Still speak and read it well. Actually got to preach in Russian a couple of times.

Privyet! Wow, now preaching in Russian attests to your mastery of the language!

Did you preach in a Russian Orthodox Church? I’ve been a few times but understand almost nothing in the sermon.

Thank you, but no. A normal Baptist church in Zhitomyr and a Lutheran church just outside of Kiev. Plus I did some counseling training in a Christian college in Zhitomyr.

This was 20 years ago and my heart burns for the people in Ukraine. I know there are some significant issues withe the corruption and evil of their leaders, but war does seem a little over draconian of Russia,

Wow!

Do you speak Ukrainian also?

I have never visited Ukraine, I’ve only studied it from afar. I was a Russian-trained intelligence analyst in the 80’s, and concentrated on the Lvov (now Lviv) area.

I’m now dating a Ukrainian woman (now a US citizen) who speaks both Ukrainian and Russian. She was forced to learn Russian when she grew up.
