I took the ASVAB in 1982. Because Reagan was CinC and things were getting back to patriotic then.
I was stoned because I smoked pot every day then. They called me back for a very weird follow up test on language skills - just me and one officer in a room with him playing incomprehensible sounds on a tape player and asking me to make sense out of what I heard.
I guess I passed, because before I knew it, I was at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey learning Russian for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 52 weeks. I ended up at a listening post in Germany for 4 years.
As soon as I was sworn in, in never smoked pot again. And soon we won the Cold War.
Maybe if we had someone like Reagan in charge, we wouldn’t be having these recruiting problems.

MacAlester’s had a dinky paper sign ‘Closed at 4 . Have patience while we train new staff’ and Lee’s Hamburgers are now closed at 4 permanently. The one ‘open until 10 every day’ was Mike’s Pizza. Returning home I noted Chic Fil Lay was open, with a mass of cars at the drive through.

Most people who join the military do one tour and out. Why would they ever risk an injection that could screw them up for life or kill them? Why join up an organization that could force you to do it?
As for those who would make it a career, the military is a narrow career path with a pension dangling over their head. Who would start down that track only to have corrupt politicians and psychopathic government bureaucrats hold their pension hostage if they don't take part in a sick experiment?
The military isn't going to recover from the illegal mandates.
Next up besides pulling down the Confederate Monument at Arlington is exhuming the remains of Lr Gen A P Hill, CSA, who is interred on Richmond city property.
