Suzy Weiss is a 27-year-old journalist who is bright, thoughtful, and very lonely. She’s also wondering why Tinder and other apps like it have failed members of her generation.
Writing at her older sister Bari’s Substack “Common Sense,” Suzy claims in an article called “Generation Swipe,” that “Tinder promised it would revolutionize romance.” So far, however, it appears to have failed not only her, but her peers as well. And she wonders why.
Part of the problem can be found in the first paragraph, however:
“Every generation thinks they have it the hardest when it comes to finding love, but it’s hard to look at mine and conclude that we don’t have a good case. Never before have young people been having so little sex …”
Perhaps it’s because she and her generation equate sex with love. They’ve bought into the lie that lots of sex means happiness, that women can enjoy carnal pleasures like men, and that this is how to find your soulmate.
My mother’s generation, however, believed that good girls don’t, and while bad girls seem to have all the fun, men want to marry good girls. Trouble is, however, that now lots of men don’t want to get married. And some, notes Weiss, don’t even want to have sex, believe it or not....

Today’s young men are useless and today’s young women are toxic.
Never a good combination.
Who wants to left wing nut girls?
I don't think the quick hook-up platform ever promised that.
Maybe for a date or two, but after useless toxic nutty sex, I might want a recovery time-out.
Many years ago, it was predicted that college educated women were going to find it difficult to find a suitable mate. What wasn’t predicted is that there would be a generation of males who didn’t want to have hetero sex. I bet all the Marxist gender identity freaks are happy.
“Matchmaker, Matchmaker
Make me a match, Find me a catch, Catch me a catch!..”
Seems there is an oversupply of men in China. Anybody interested?
No honey, it's just you that isn't having sex.
"Everyone else" is bonking their brains out.
Which pretty much describes every young generation.
Guys on Free Republic on a Friday or Saturday night.
Nope, not me. Cannot stand them. I struggle to be polite around them. Their inner ugliness oozes out their eyes.
Let them marry their cat.
Good advice.
Nope.
After drinking ourselves into oblivion, maybe.
Today’s young women wildly overvalue themselves and today’s men are intimidated by that falsehood. Today’s women are genuinely pathologically leftist and while the men are not, they must pretend to be to get laid. Quickly, the lie is exposed and the young woman dumps “the liar”
“Plenty of Fish in the Sea” Syndrome. Why work for a relationship when you can just go on Tinder and find another potential mate?
"Just mention Modern Art, Civil Rights, or Folk Music, and you're in like Flynn!"
I remember counseling a young woman age 20 who thought all was lost for her because she had no prospects, had had no boyfriends, thought she was homely. She was a virgin and in a town with little hope of meeting someone. I told her to stop looking and get on with her life. She might be surprised what happens when you aren’t looking. She was heading on the road to depression and wasn’t really buying my conversation. But we ended with prayer and two years later, maybe 3, she was head over heels in love and heading down the aisle to say I do.
But I believe the women’s movement has ruined things for girls coming of age in these days. They have made human ‘love’ the be all end all, and left out learning/teaching the security of God’s unconditional love. Has nothing to do with sex, sensuality and the rest of the lies they tell. They are looking for that unconditional love in the wrong place with the wrong understanding of what it is. What about sacrificial love? Are they willing to love unconditionally? Do they understand that in 80 years of life, that is 4,160 weeks. Only 17 of those weeks, on average are spent engaging in sexual activity. What is she going to do with the other 4,143 week? She might need to give that some thought.
Thanks to social media, every woman expects to meet Prince Harry who's a handsome millionaire.
