A top FBI agent based in Washington, D.C., reportedly resigned from his position last week after being accused of attempting to thwart a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden.
Timothy Thibault, an FBI assistant special agent in charge, was escorted out of the Washington field office by at least two “headquarters-looking types” last Friday, sources told the Washington Times on Monday.
Thibault had already been on leave since FBI director Christopher Wray revealed during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing earlier this month that he found the whistleblower claims against the agent and his colleague, FBI supervisory intelligence analyst Brian Auten, “deeply troubling.”

The damage is already done. The punishments for the stolen election — if any there ever are — will never be sufficient to right the wrongs done to the American people in 2020.
I wonder if it’s more like “Top FBI Agent Allegedly Resigns after Thwarting Hunter Biden Investigation”. I suspect he’ll show up later after things settle down.
I hope he quit of his own accord. Then he wouldn’t be eligible for unemployment.

For sure he is being transferred to another cushy Federal job.
He doesn’t get unemployment if he was fired with cause like he should have been. But since the Deep State takes care of its own, I expect he will get a higher paying do-nothing job as a consultant somewhere.
Last time I checked, this is obstruction of justice and very possible conspiracy involving FB, the MSM, the DNC and key members of Congress.
The Deep State wants this to die quickly!
My first question is how close is he to retirement to make him think he could get away with this? Other sources say he’s a 25 year FBI veteran.
Fact is people who break those rules do out of arrogance. They think they will get away with it. The damage is done. Can it be fixed? His retirement check needs to be threatened as a warning to others. Make him fight for it in court. Jail time won’t happen but he needs to go to sleep thinking it just might.

Hey, great! That means the investigation will go forward and we’ll see arrests any day now, doesn’t it? The Tooth Fairy told me so.
It won't help him (and his comrades). Giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States has no statute of limitations.
Yeah....he’s a scapegoat, but IMO, his background and actions aren’t defensible. Indict, try and sentence in court of law and hang him. Maybe that will wake up some of the other FBI cowards there into stopping this stuff.
Obama was the end of the FBI.
Under his direction the DOJ became a political instrument, with stooges like Comey, Holder, and Lynch doing the work to implement this.
You need to realize, all these agencies and departments have political appointees running them.
That has always been the case. But in the past folks typically were SMEs and non political, or at least they tried very hard to appear so.
But what happens when these appointees have no semblance of neutrality or objectivity? And worse yet, what happens when these appointees get to choose who the senior executive ranks within these federal agencies are filled by?
Finally, what happens when under the guise of inclusion and diversity you recruit folks that in the past would have never even been able to get a clearance, be selected as an agent... Todays FBI is very diverse and inclusive, and you see the purple and green haired folks there too!
The issue is primarily top down, but also a bit bottom up at this point. But one thing is for sure, this isn’t your grandfather’s FBI. This is a new culture today, one where they take on an activist role in justice, rather than standing on the sidelines and merely watching to see who is breaking the rules. It’s a game where the referees favor one team over the other, and they see nothing wrong with using their power to make sure their team wins.
As to Wray. He needs to go also. Either he was complacent on what was an evident institutional problem, or his an idiot that has no clue what was happening right under his nose. Either case doesn’t look good for him.
If he was on leave what was he doing at the Washington Field Office ?

This guy and three other agents put the Hunter Biden Investigation on ice.
They labeled the cooperating sources as disinformation and bad sources, and deactivated and shipped it off to Die.
Every single Republican in Congress should be screaming for a Special Counsel for Hunter Biden.
