Republicans in Alaska passed rank choice voting in 2020. This confusing system is only being pushed by RINOS and radicals in conservative red states. It allows Democrats to even the playing field when they have no chance of winning.
Republicans also passed mail-in voting.

Last night Sarah Palin ran in two races in Alaska.
The former governor ran in the 2022 primary race for US House of Representatives. She also ran in the special election to finish out Rep. Don Young’s term in the current US House of Representatives. Young died earlier this year.
Sarah Palin may lose the election depending on who the third place challenger’s voters picked for their second choice.
How can this even be legal?
Oh, and the race will not be decided until the end of the month because Republicans just passed mail-in voting!

This is all a little confusing: There are two elections in play — both held Tuesday — along with a host of changes, implemented this year, to how Alaska conducts its elections, including a shift to ranked-choice. Here’s what you need to know.
Palin — along with Nicholas Begich, Republican scion of a major Alaskan Democratic family, and former state Rep. Mary Peltola, a Democrat who would be the first Alaska Native in the state’s congressional delegation — is competing to finish out the Young’s term in a special election. Independent Al Gross, who ran for Senate in 2020, also qualified for the general election but dropped out.
Voters have ranked their choices, but the winner won’t be clear until at least the end of August as mail-in ballots trickle in and officials tally the votes.

I guess I don’t get it. Without the RCV, wouldn’t the Democrat have already won? She (the Dem) came in first in the both the primary and special election because the GOP split their vote among various R candidates.
Everyone gets trophy, or everyone thinks they get a trophy. And then the incumbent wins.
Begich needs to get out and endorse Palin.
Not that he will, of course.
The people of Alaska voted for this. The GOP let it happen due to laziness in not wanting to do their job and let it up to the voters. It’s not stealing for gods sake. There two republicans in the race. How idiotic is that. No wonder nancy may get another number. GOP idiots once again. Stop with the stealing crap with every damn election especially when-the reason is blinking lights right in front of the country.
All that the voters of Alaska need to remember is that a vote for any democrat is a vote for the destruction of America! My God, can’t they see what is going on in this country?
Alaskans did vote for this - and it ‘won’ by the thinnest of margins and Million$$ of bucks from outside, dark money PACS that want Mur Cow Ski to stay in the senate and continue to vote (D).
Had this been a classic closed (R) primary as was the law prior to this election, Lisa would be out on her left-leaning ass. Again.

First, it sounds good, doesn’t it?
I’ll try using a simple example to wake you up.
Imagine for a moment Lizard Cheney vs. Harriet Hageman.
Imagine Wyoming goes stupid and becomes an RCV state.
No more primaries, vote for the top 3 candidates. There can be dozens of candidates, but you must vote for your #1, you #2, and your #3. MUST MARK 1, 2, 3.
You’re not allowed to mark only one, or two; got to mark three choices, or your ballot goes pfft!
Ok, here’s the choices;
____ Hageman
____ Lizard
____ Obamanoid
____ O’Dork
You as a Repugnican mark 1 for Hageman, 2 for Lizard, 3 for your ex-spouse.
Your neighboring demoturd marks 1 for Obamanoid, 2 for Miss Piggie, and 3 for Hageman.
Wyoming has 70% registered Republicans and 70% of these 70% are MAGA warriors packing heat. So 48% MAGA. But they got to mark a ‘2’ for someone, so they hold their nose and mark 2 for Lizard.
Now this example can go on, but you should be able to see that Miss Piggie Lizard gets the win.
Please take thus example, modify, edit as necessary, and make it go viral.
RCV elections guarantee only ‘moderates’ like Liz Cheney win.
SAY NO TO RCV!
I agree. RCV allows the majority preference to eventually emerge even if it was split among multiple candidates initially. Palin still has the best chance.
