Last night I didn’t win the $1.3 b mega million, but I had the mega number plus one other good for $4. So I bought a scratcher at the local Ralphs(Kroger in most of the country). The scratcher won $200. But the store refused to cash it saying they didn’t have enough money. The manager was in the back of the store but the guy who refused to cas my ticket would not let me talk to the manager. I got my money from a smoke shop two doors down. I filed a complaint with California lottery and gave the store a 1 star rating on yelp. Let’s see what happens. Didn’t have $200? That is bogus, so let’s ser
I’ve always heard that you can only cash-in up to a certain amount from a store that sells tickets; beyond that you have to go to a lottery office.
I once cashed a home photocopied lottery ticket just to see what would happen. I won a free play.
Wah Wah Wah.
Some relatively low priced copiers are very impressive.
To all the EXCUSE MAKER’S with READING COMPREHENSION ISSUES. Note, the man states he then went to a mom-and-pop Tobacco Shop and they gave him his winnings.
Also, note IF YOU READ his post the cashier refused to allow him to even speak to the store manager. Ralphs most certainly has a mere 200 dollars on hand to pay out the man’s ticket. It seems to be that the store clerk has issues.
It seems to me that Ralph’s needs to send that person to the unemployment line and issue this man an apology.
Yes. The bar code should clear things up. Should.
LOL!
They wouldn’t care about copies. Once it’s been redeemed, they’ll know. If anyone is stupid enough to pay out without checking the bar code, they deserve to be taken.
You’re lucky you won anything at all. Most people just throw their money away
I won a 400.00 scratch-off long ago at a 7-11 type store, only smaller.
No problem at all. Maybe it was because I bought the ticket there.
How did the cashier stop you from doing that? Just walk right into the back and say "Which one of you is the manager?"
Also, had a cash 5 win. Valero station clerk says not a winner. We knew it was. We asked for the ticket back. Took it to another place and they said it had already been turned in. Yep, it was a winner and that clerk screwed us and took the win. Easy for them to do.
Now I always use the Lottery ‘check my ticket’ app and photograph the whole ticket. Today the site would not work. WTH? Bet they want people to join??
the max amount that is cashed immediately is 600
over 80% white
Manager was in the store office no access
It’ll get you a tank of gas.
seems to me that Ralph’s needs to send that person to the unemployment line and issue this man an apology.
Unless we hear a Rest of the Story from Ralph’s.
Knock on the door?
