US Gasoline And Food Prices Soar To All-time Highs As Fed Begins Removing Monetary Stimulus (10-year US Treasury Yield Jumps 8.7 BPS)
Confounded Interest ^ | 06/01/2022 | Anthony B. Sanders

US gasoline prices just rose to an all-time high. Yes, even higher than the Dubya-era gasoline price surge of 2008.

Rising gasoline and diesel prices are helping drive up food prices to the highest level in history.

The proxy war the US is fighting in with Russia in Ukraine is helping drive up food prices. But at the core is Biden’s anti-fossil fuel drilling executive orders starting when Statist Joe (and The Fish) became President.

As The Fed begins unwinding their massive balance sheet, the 10-year US Treasury yield jumped 8.7 basis points.

Love the Pelosi GIF at the bottom.

That GIF is probably very accurate. Pelosi and other commies love destroying the American economy.

IMHO to get inflation under control way more has to be done than just the Fed Reserve lowering their balance sheet some (assuming going down to $4 trillion like it was pre china virus) and raise interest rates by 0.5%.

The federal gubment has to reign in their rampant spending. Which they won't do. Thus the Fed Reserve will have to raise rates more, and more, and more. They're going to crash the stock market, and new investors who think they are all that and a bag of chips are going to learn that sometimes you lose money in the market.

In addition to gas, diesel, natural gas and propane prices are also soaring. Due to the dramatic inflation in energy prices across the board, all kinds of other prices are also rising steeply as we see at our grocery stores, restaurants, even fast-food joints.

“The federal gubment has to reign in their rampant spending”

“Monetary Stimulus” is the standard euphemism for putting “rampant spending”. Sounds better, huh?

Gas prices had dropped a bit here in Central Kentucky and yesterday when I went to lunch with the guys it was $4.11 where I usually buy it.

After lunch I saw several $4.59 locations. Thinking the price is headed up and my place just hasn’t raised their price yet, I topped off my premium fuel car ($0.60 higher).

After I got home, I thought I’d take my other car to top off and buy some gas for the lawnmower, but by the time I got there my usual station had already raised their price to $4.59. Sigh.

Gonna be at 6 bucks come November. By Christmas, people wont be ables to afford the usual Christmas joy items they usual purchase...not the expensive items but food items like Ham and things like that.

I expect to see poaching skyrocket in the country areas.

Inflation is how they are going to pay down the $30T debt with devalued dollars.

Of course I’ve been saying this since the debt was $1T.

= = =

News just showed high fuel prices in Los Angeles (Chevron I think, probably the highest they could find).

Reg 7.959
Med 7.979
Prem 7.999
Deisel 7.999

Is that 1/2 % difference between Reg and Premium?

Seems the price difference should grow, not remain the piddly 4 cents.

Good thing they took lead out of ethyl because this gas pricing stinks as bad dead fish.

You might be on to something IF they would stop spending borrowed money but they can’t and won’t.

The uniparty is hell-bent on destruction and DC is addicted to dollars.

We are ruining the future for our children and grandchildren.

Every single crisis, real or ginned up, is a new excuse to spend ridiculous amounts of money.

When the economy goes into recession (and it will probably a nasty one) the government will need a lot more money take care of the millions of illegal immigrants who can’t find work.

The states will have to absorb a lot of the costs but the federal government (taxpayers) will certainly help them fund it to the tune of billions of dollars.

BTW your share of the debt (as a taxpayer) is presently $243,000. For now.
