Rep. Chris Jacobs (R-N.Y.) has come out in favor of an assault weapons ban after two high-profile mass shootings in his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y., and in Uvalde, Texas, claimed more than two dozen lives in total.
Jacobs said at a press conference Friday that if a bill to ban AR-15-style weapons came to the House floor, he would vote in favor. He added that he would also back raising the required age for certain gun sales to 21, imposing a federal limit on guns’ magazine capacity and banning the sale of body armor to the public.
Jacobs received an endorsement from the National Rifle Association during his 2020 congressional run, at the time saying he was honored to receive the endorsement and vowing to serve as an “ally and fighter” for gun owners in western New York.

Elect sheriffs who will not enforce the ban. Elect DAs who will not prosecute offenders. Elect governors and legislators who will declare their states “Second Amendment sanctuaries.”

For the month of February 2022, New York City saw a 58.7% increase in overall index crime compared to February 2021 (9,138 v. 5,759). Every major index crime category saw an increase for the month of February 2022. Robbery increased by 56% (1,276 v. 818), grand larceny increased by 79.2% (3,762 v. 2.099), and grand larceny auto increased by 104.7% (1,083 v. 529). Citywide shooting incidents decreased by 1.3% (76 v. 77) in February 2022 compared to the same period last year.

And taking and/or cutting off different guns from private citizens when the criminals are going to get any they want of them off the street in a variety of types, so as to cut off defense capacity, when the cops are outnumbered, is over the past and currently being proven the wrong tact. In February alone, the violent crimes of murder, rape, and felony assault were up an average of 22,7% above last years numbers alone. And because of lacking fear, burglary and robbery were up an average of 49.9% above the previous year.
I would say limiting and possibly in time, with the slippery slope, removing guns from the citizens is going to be a complete disaster. It’ll be a bigger war zone than is already there.

What does it matter, no matter what the definition is (even if it was 100% correct), it would be unconstitutional. ALL major federal gun laws are unconstitutional, we just need the SCOTUS to have the courage to recognize that.
For now the former definition of assault weapons was a laundry list of weapons by name and features during the 1990s with slick Willie’s AWB that has a sunset in it. So pretty much any detachable magazine fed semi automatic rifle currently made would meet the AWB definition of the last ban. As pointed out before they won’t stop there they want all semi automatic weapons banned and confiscated that is the goal always has been always will be. Single shot rifles and shotguns are easy to get across the pond. Try to get a semi forget about it unless you are connected or very wealthy.
The police won’t protect you, you can’t defend yourself, and you can’t even wear passive body armor - according to this guy. This is what passes for government looking out for the little people: You’re disposable.

One of the problems is that shrinks are silenced by patient confidentiality...but more than that....they don’t want to be involved anyways. Same thing with the worthless shrinks they put in schools.

There are some folks...I'd just as soon be shot dead.
I wouldn't help burying them....though.
So what is their next plan when outlawing assault weapons does not solve the gun problems.
Then they will realize the term assault weapon is a meaningless term.
Next will be all semi auto ban.
Then when killings still continue will come a handgun ban.
After the 4th or 5th weapons ban. Will finally come rhr boom. A ban on. All weapons. Knives. Pointed sticks. Explosion, then flammable liquids.
