After it was revealed on Thursday that not only did police delay their response to sending tactical teams into the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Tex. amid a school shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead but prevented parents from entering, the Wall Street Journal reported that one mother sprinted into the school to get her children, over objections from law enforcement.
Angeli Rose Gomez drove 40 miles to the school upon hearing of the shooting, and she arrived, said "The police were doing nothing. They were just standing outside the fence. They weren't going in there or running anywhere."

Just a general comment to the LEOs ... this is the kind of shit that will get you shot. I highly advise against such actions.

This story is taking a turn for the worse, as Lucy would say, they have some splaining to do. Taking only 2 minutes of questions at the last presser is not a good look.

I doubt that, since the shooter was probably already locked inside the classroom, so she wouldn’t have been able to get her kids if they were in that particular classroom.
Pretty sure no one is suggesting that the mommas and papas go run in there with a stapler... No, but when there are armed and armored LEOs, THEY should be doing the big boy stuff.

You can all rest easy knowing that our law enforcement officers are ok and injury free...
They will all be receiving overtime pay and paid “stress” leave while recovering from their traumatic experience...
However, they looked really impressive in their surplus military equipment and the bravery they exhibited in the face of those howling frantic parents...
Undoubtably there will be promotions and medals in the next few months once these grieving parents quiet down and disperse...
Why wait for a stinking “tactical team” when 4 or 5 cops with shotguns and body armor could have rushed or charged the suspect and shot him to death?

There’s a time to plan and a time to act. When something nefarious is going down, then one needs to act, and plan while in motion, while dealing with the nefarious activity, not plan and then act. The second group to arrive can deal with the perimeter. The first group to arrive deals with the bad actors, close, up front and personal. My opinion, backed up by my experience in federal law enforcement, lo those many decades ago.
