CNN’s Matt Egan spun himself into a whirlpool of insanity trying to downplay bad economic growth.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported that Gross Domestic Product contracted 1.4 percent in Q1, which was the complete opposite of economists who estimated a 1 percent increase, a 2.4 percentage point miss. U.S. GDP taking a nosedive was worsened by the 40-year-high inflation currently plaguing the economy and drilling holes in Americans’ wallets. Janney Chief Fixed Income Strategist Guy LeBas summed up the significance of the GDP falling into the negative against expectations of growth: “Nasty miss.” Egan tried to minimize the political damage on the April 28 edition of CNN’s New Day : “We shouldn’t panic about these numbers.”

Panicking is bad. Preparing accordingly is appropriate.
When the economy goes into official recession in 3 more months, CNN and MSNBC will follow the lead of Biden and Psaki and most democrats, and will blame the recession on the bad economy they inherited from Trump, with Putin and global warming and Covid getting part of the blame, and republicans also getting a share of the blame for not passing Build Back Better.
Spinning the news to pretend the economic situation isn’t as bad as it is even worse.
And how do you prepare?
Their first instinct is to lie in this case to get past the midterms.
This is faster than Carter brought us into a recession - just from memory. Anyone know?
1. Fire the Democrats.
2. Party.
The thing is that you can directly point to Biden policies that caused this coming recession. Shutting off oil and gas drilling as well as pipelines. Getting involved in a European war. Extending the shut down beyond all sense. And of course there is the over spending causing the fed to raise interest rates faster than the market can adjust. And that is not even getting to the question of confidence. People have none.
This is leftwing political people we're talking about, people who say that budgets increasing but by less than the left wanted them to are really deep deep budget cuts.
The start of a recession is just 'less growth than we'd have liked' to a crowd of committed propegandists like them.
The Biden Recession.
Hopefully not The Biden Depression.

It was not stupid on the part of CNN. It was very carefully contrived to hide the real meaning of the numbers.
