Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich said he went behind a building and cried after losing the 2016 GOP presidential primary to former President Donald Trump.
Kasich made the embarrassing admission on Thursday’s episode of the “Kasich & Klepper” podcast.
The former governor said that he had stayed in the race until the bitter end because he believed people “were gonna come to their senses.”
“Well, you know, I was [in the presidential race] til the bitter end. When it was over — I haven’t ever told anyone this — I was on a plane and we were going to do a fundraiser, and I could have done it, and I thought, ‘You know, that’s not right, I know this isn’t gonna go on because Trump’s gonna have enough votes in the convention,’” Kasich explained. “ I was really hoping that we were gonna block him and that people were gonna come to their senses.”
When he finally admitted to himself that he lost, he cried.
“But when it was over, we got off the plane, I went inside the FBO [fixed-base operator], and I went behind this building, and I cried. I had one cry,” Kasich said, explaining that his family comforted him.

You’re quite correct. That’s exactly what happened. I wish Trump’s advisors foresaw what they were up to and planned an option to defeat the steal.

On the debate stage he was asked to stand at the far end in accordance with his poll numbers. I guess Johnny missed that clue.
Well any random person off the street had as much reason to cry for not somehow winning the primary as a write in candidate. That is they had no plausible a chance either.
What makes grown think showing weakness is admirable? There’s nothing wrong with a man crying but I fail to see how it reflects favorably on him. Somethings, I believe, are not be for public consumption, and men can demonstrate their humanity in a lot of more constructive ways.

America came to its senses twice, which is why you barely won your own state as Governor.
I finally believe him about something.
The only reason Kasich stayed in so long was to keep the non-Trump vote split and deny Rubio or Cruz any opening for a late rally. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dems were steering money into his campaign. The RINOs assumed Trump was a sure loser in the general, and they preferred Hillary to Rubio or Cruz, either of whom would have at least attempted to enact some conservative targets. Better Hillary than a Tea Party Republican.
Everything else aside, it would have been nice for the first Hispanic president to have been Republican.
