The Russians have admitted their flagship was sunk.

They failed to take Kiev, in spite of a serious effort, at the start (failed decapitation of the government) and lost 200 paratroopers as a result.

They retreated from the whole Northern region, with the loss of a significant amount of armored vehicles and casualties.

Those facts are not in doubt.

The Russians themselves showed footage of the attempted paratrooper takeover of the airport. (at the beginning)

The Russians admit the Moskva was sunk.

The exact number of Russian armored vehicles destroyed may not be known, but it is, at minimum a few hundred. Neither side gives out exact numbers of their destroyed equipment. There is plenty of misinformation on both sides; but separate images of 1500 destroyed armored vehicles is unlikely.

Maybe it is only 500; that is still significant.

If those are all "feints" and "victories", many more like them will lose the war.

“oddly, Zelenskyy seemed to concede that he has no control over what’s happening there.”

Well, yes. Putting Zelenskyy in charge of military operations would be similar to letting Obama be a General.

It is very difficult to find the truth about what is happening in the Ukraine and I think we can all agree that representations in Western and Russian media are not trustworthy.

I am certain that the Russian offensive has not gone to plan and it has revealed many weaknesses within Russian forces ranging from basic maintenance of equipment to tactics and doctrine.

However, I am also certain that Russia still has large advantages in raw numbers as well as air power. While they still seem to be struggling to use this advantage the history of their military shows that they usually get it right after a poor start by purging inept leadership AND promoting people who show effectiveness.

Based on history and arithmetic the conflict still favors Russia despite the incredible ineptitude we have seen so far.

However, there are two big wildcards that should concern all of us. Putin’s hold on power (or lack thereof) could escalate the conflict AND the longer this conflict drags on the more likely our Western leaders will do something stupid to drag themselves (and us) into it.

This conflict is not only tragic for the participants but it represents a great danger to all of us. Probably the biggest danger in the last 30 years for the entire world.

Our leadership in the West (US and Europe) does not inspire confidence and China is positioned to use soft-power (and propaganda through our media) to broaden the conflict to further weaken the West.

There will be no “winners” in the Ukraine no matter who is declared the victor by whatever measurements people prioritize. The nation is wrecked (and taxpayers in the West will pay for it) even if Ukraine “wins”. If Russia prevails the world is a much less stable place ramping up another “cold war” further militarizing the nations between Europe and Russia even as the Euro’s continue to fund the Russian military via energy reliance.

Either way, the conflict is pushing Russia further into the sphere of China AND it is a good object lesson for China to evaluate their goals for Taiwan.

China is the winner of the mess in the Ukraine no matter what. A point lost on our media and punditry class.

While the obvious “villain” in this conflict is Putin, there is little doubt that interference and meddling in the Ukraine by neocons in the US and Europe certainly contributed to the corruption and current circumstances in Ukraine.

We are probably a few wrong moves from a nuclear war and few seem to realize it or comprehend how dangerous this conflict has become even as we rely on the “gang that can’t shoot straight” to respond.

In other words, if your assessment is correct (and it is logical), the danger for the West only grows as the conflict continues because Western leaders feel compelled to “do more” or “do something” even as hundreds of nuclear weapons are pointed at their own nations.

“Surrender is surrender”

Are you implying that the US should surrender to Russia?

I think the Col. is very accurate about the reality of this conflict.

MacGregor has been wildly wrong about Ukraine. That's beyond dispute.

First, before the war, he claimed that Ukraine would fall very quickly, the Russians would race to the Dnieper and take Odessa, and that NATO would breakup. Hasn't exactly turned out that way, has it?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-ISoF3mmtQ

On March 2, he said:

“What is happening now is the battle in Eastern Ukraine is really almost over, all the Ukrainian troops there have been largely surrounded and cut off... and if they don't surrender in next 24 hours, I suspect the Russians will ultimately annihilate them... The game is over.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/russian-state-tv-tells-ukraine-to-listen-to-fox-news-guest-doug-macgregor-and-kneel-to-vladimir-putin

It's now more than a month and a half later, and the Russians are even now trying to concentrate forces for something MacGregor said was going to be over a month and a half ago.

Then on March 4, he said this:

Well, the end of this phase is still a few days away. The first five days Russian forces, I think, frankly, were too gentle. They've now corrected that. So I would say another ten days this should be completely over.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2022/03/05/macgregor_zelensky_is_no_hero_hes_a_puppet_that_is_putting_his_own_population_at_unnecessary_risk.html

This guy has been wrong, repeatedly, about how this war would go. It was supposed to be a Russian cakewalk that would result in Ukraine quickly becoming a rump state with no access to the Black Sea, and with NATO collapsing. And that was supposed to take a week, max. Even after the war had started and wasn't going quite as swimmingly as predicted, he reevaluated and still had it being over by March 14.

It is now April 18. Why anyone would believe any of this guy's predictions at this point is beyond me.

That’s pretty much it.

Any Russian advances right now are slow, they are bogged down trying to take Mariupol.

Any units involved in the Mariupol battles are going to take months to rest and refit. The same for the units withdrawn from Kiev. The Russians could throw them into another attack, but they are partial strength units worn out from heavy fighting and that will seriously erode morale.

I'm sure the neocons, Deep Staters and globalists here will all claim, like they have with Scott Ritter, than Macgregor is peddling Russian talking points.

Any remotely objective analysis of the war is Russian propaganda.

Yes, that is what the media and the Xi-O’Biden regime are saying.

All Lies. So are the Russians.

Since Macgregor has frequently appeared on Russian state TV to parrot Russian talking points, I think the shoe fits.

Correct. Stay totally out of it.

Besides, Xi-O’Biden is totally incapable of doing anything about it. They can’t run a taco cart. All they can do is destroy things.

Russians advanced to take Kreminna (sp?) in Luhansk oblast with a few dozen armored vehicles, but there's still fighting there. Meanwhile Ukrainians took back some villages near Izyum.

Seems to be the same pattern: Russians break through when they concentrate forces, but with no follow up the advance peters out and Ukrainians pick them off. The Ukrainians resist everywhere and the Russians don't have the forces to keep advancing and secure their rear. Plus the Ukrainians seem to have kept some armor in reserve available to attack in the rear or flank of attacks moving south, whereabouts currently unclear.

We chose the wrong side in Serbia/Bosnia/Kosovo.

I don’t know the history of the Col.

Whatever it is, it is better than our media is capable of presenting.

Neither you or I know the real state of afairs on the ground in the Ukraine.

There is no truth or end to the ongoing global propaganda war.

I know that both sides are lying. I know that our own government(Xi-O’Biden regime) wants to destroy the USA as we know it.

That is enough.
